Weird Flickering with Shaders
For some reason my shaders begin to flicker and world becomes translucent after a while. It would work perfectly fine then start flickering. Im on the MMC4 modpack. Ive already done the Alex Caves fix and checked the FAQ for any other incompatible mods. Ive tried Complementary and Bliss (the in-development version) and the problem persists on both. The issue goes away after switching monitors then appears again (usually after opening inventory)
does anyone know if theres a solution to using bliss shaders on forge?
bliss shaders on forge with dh makes a weird smear effect on the game is there a fix for this yet?
DH is causing MC to crash when a entity has the glowing effect
When aa entity has the glowing effect and I move it out of my site, minecraft crashes
dimensions overwrite overworld lods
running on a dedicated forge server, with the recent non-dev build from the gitlab and i'm seeing the old issue with mining dimension and lost city lods overwriting the overworld lods every time i enter them. not sure what to do since there's no longer a multiverse setting to adjust.
Maxing Out Memory (Wynncraft)
This is probably more of a niche problem but I thought I might see if anyone knows how to resolve this. I have DH loaded while playing Wynncraft and downloaded WynnLODGrabber https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/wynnlodgrabber. This is all working fine however when typing /hub and connecting to a different server I notice that my memory usage increases each time. And after like 8-9 server swaps in about a minute (for testing purposes) I max out the 8 GB of memory assigned and I get the error in the screenshot (sorry for bad quality, MC stopped responding and the screen turned that opaque white). I'm assuming this is due to the LOD loading each time I swap servers without clearing the previous one. Is there a method for me to clear or refresh the LOD from memory since currently the only method I have found is just closing out of Minecraft completely and playing again.
Multiplayer: us.wynncraft.com
Version: 1.21.4
DH Version: Nightly Build 1.21.4 (not sure what version exactly it is anymore because of autoupdates but this is what I downloaded originally NightlyBuild_1.21.4-4a3effa2-2025-02-22T20_55_18+05_00)...
Can't find how to fix error 404
I'm trying to download DH 1.21.3 but the website gives me an error 404 and I can't find any help in #gitlab-status
Trouble even figuring out how to download the mod at all
I'm not really a github aficionado, I can't seem to find the .jar mod file anywhere? I have found the DH .zip, but it unzips to a folder, not a .jar. Sorry for such a basic question!
LOD's randomly turn off
Like the title says, LOD's randomly turn off after 1-10 minutes. I'm on 2.2.1-a 1.20.1 forge, I do have Alex caves installed, but I have biome ambient light / coloring off. I'm playing with Complementary unbound & euphoria patches
Solution:
Using this one, they stopped turning off and randomly refreshing, they load a bit faster too
High CPU temps but low cpu usage
running this mod makes my cpu temps jump from like 80-85c on the lowest settings possible, currently running minimal cpu impact and 128 lod render distance. the weird thing is that my cpu usage only reaches like 20% due to minimal impact settings which is normal, but then it still reaches pretty high temps, while other games that use way more like 60% of my cpu wont even reach 75c on my cpu
Running a 4070 super paired with a Ryzen 9 7900x on singleplayer with sodium/iris/ferritecore/indium/lithium/starlight at 1440p
if im standing still while all the lods around me have loaded only then do the temps go down and stay stable but its once i start running around loading new stuff that it just randomly skyrockets...
good guide for install
hi i need this mod asap but dont know how to install it for 1.21.4 since you have to compile it, can somone please send me a good guide
Stupid question about Nightly Build
Essentially, I've noticed how, every time i log back in the server, it always re imports the DH chunks, as if my cache isn't there.
Is there a way to "keep" a cache of the server on the client side? Or is it suppoused to operate like this? Because it means that every time I log back in the server, it takes a while to re import all the chunks....
Solution:
You can keep the LODs loaded by keeping MC in the background with your account AFK
Every time you close the game/leave the server all Mc files, classes, chunks and LODs unload from RAM and VRAM and each time they will need to be loaded/imported from disc again...
how can i use DH with complementary + euphoria patches
ive tried it and it just dosent load the lods so i was wondering if theres an easy solution
My game crashes when loading in, but only in multiplayer servers
This is really weird and I've tried reinstalling the instance, DH and running with indium. It works fine in singleplayer and I can join a server one time in a new instance of the game and then it crashes immediately on loading in before seeing anything at all. Its minecraft 1.21.1 with DH 2.2.1-a and Fabric 0.16.10
LOD for foliage not being generated correctly
DH seems to be unable to generate the LOD's corresponding to the foliage, it can definitely detect when it exists but the color is a weird pink instead of green, textures: RT by hodi
Solution:
I think I know what the issue is
Though I need to test it is that is true
The grass texture is gray and is colored later by MC, MC knows to color the texture because in the model file a
"tintindex"
entry is present next to the texture access, but the grass in this RP has texture accesses without the tintindex, it does not break vanilla rendering as the faces with tge gray textures are 1D lines (a.k.a. insisible), but DH has no way of knowing that as it only looks at textures
If that theory is correct the RP author has to either: add tintindex to every texture access or remove redundant invisible texture accesses...
how to fabric 2.3.0b 1.21.1 ?
Hi guys i wanted to download the jar for fabric 1.21.1 of DH 2.3.0b from :
https://gitlab.com/distant-horizons-team/distant-horizons/-/releases/2.3.0b
But there is no jar but a zip file.
So i opened the readme file from the zip and i followed the procedure :...
Solution:
You can just download the latest 1.21.1 artifact build instead of compiling it yourself: https://gitlab.com/distant-horizons-team/distant-horizons/-/jobs/9332112690/artifacts/download
