import data from official cloud?

Suppose i upload a bunch of photos and albums into the paid official Ente cloud, but later decide i want to run a self-hosted instance. Can i export and then import the cloud data into my self-hosted instance? Is it just a mater of using the cli on the official API endpoint to export locally, and then again the cli on the self-hosted API to import from the local export? Any docs page detailing the steps?...

Self-hosting on Raspberry PI is not working

Dear community, this is my first post here and I hope that you guys can help me out! You'll see that I'm everything else than an expert. I've got my raspberry pi (model 4 b with lite installation on it but nothing else) where I like to self-host ente. I followed all of the steps explained in the documentation (the quickstart guide) but when it comes to creating a new account, the button is not clickable. If I click on it, the developer tools open and I have to specify the server endpoint. Even if I fill out http://<my-ip>:8080 nothing happens. You can see that in my screenshots For me it seems like there is no connection with the museum server. Is that correct? What can I do to test? ...

s3 for replication

I setup ente and it's working well! i'm hosting with a s3 provider using minio and it's working great. I'm wondering now about adding the other 2 buckets for replication - is that possible to do after the site is up and running?

invalid endpoint

When using the iOS app i can after randomly clicking on the screen? Change the URL to point to a local instance. When i do this on the Mac OS app I receive an invalid endpoint message. Is the mac app not able to connect to local instances?

Reverse Proxy

I set up ente using docker compose. Now I'm trying to use NGINX for a reverse proxy. My NGINX-Config is attached. I can access media.domain.net without any issues....

Uploads/downloads failing after upgrade

I upgraded from 703ba3ef6e to 210c18d244 a couple of days ago; I struggled a bit with the pgsql upgrade from 12 to 15, but I got that figured out, I think. I have some thousands of photos on a Linux machine that only uses terminal and has no gui. Is there a way I can upload them to my ente account (it’s on a self hosted instance) I know cli has export, but I don’t think it has import...

Specific files not uploading

I have a self hosting instance of ente running. I was able to upload most of my photos from the iOS app but then it stopped. It either continually says preserving memories or it stalls while on a random number. I thought it was a connection issue and have been looking through the logs to no avail....

How do I set up object storage without Docker

Hey, I'm trying to setup a server on my localhost without using Docke. I followed the manual setup instructions, suceeding in everything but getting stuck on configuring the buckets. I don't see any instructions how to install a service for bucket storage on local system without docker anywhere.

how self host safely and backup all credentials/password on a microsd/usb

i’m beginner to ente so i would like self host auth ente or something else of auth with a raspberry 4/5 i will buy in the future. i would be be appreciated if you have tips how do that. wiki seems a lil complicated (i have difficult with documentations) ps: i would like host privacy photos, videos and files on ente photos on a lil raspberry also but maybe i will take a nas for that (files and etc etc)...

[error] Signup failed: u: HTTP 405 (/users/ott)

I am trying to setup ente photos, while I got the entire stack (and the many subdomains with it) I keep getting this error when I think I did everything right [error] Signup failed: u: HTTP 405 (/users/ott) and it gives me "something went wrong" in the signup UI, nothing seems unusual in the docker compose logs either. I am using NGINX 1.29.1, on Debian 13, with the latest images.

Extracting face metadata from photos

I've recently installed ente on my VPS and I was wondering if there is any way to export the face information from my photos. My goal would be (just for fun) to build a network of faces, where two people are connected if they appear in the same photo. I thought it would be a fun way to visualise my friends groups. Exporting the photos with Ente CLI does not seem to include face data in the metadata, and the face data seems to (rightfully) be encrypted in the SQL database (in the face table?)...

Im using a self-hosting instance and I am using an issue with the iPhone app. For some reason, after a certain time of fat the iOS app seems to have trouble uploading photos. I would like to see the logs to trouble shoot. Is there a way to do that directly on the IPhone app?...

Confused about selfhosting/paid plans

I installed self hosted Ente As I created a user it asked me to choose a plan, but A) I am on my own machine, why do I have to choose a plan? B) It does not let me choose any other plan than 10GB plan anyway C) If I am limited to 10GB on my own host, I have to immediately uninstall this application...

I don’t know a tonne about how AI or ML actually works, but my understanding is it depends on a collective. So I don’t know how that would work on its own...
