Things that I've noticed already that make me happy: coming from someone who uses dials a lot on guitar & guitar pedals, the tension adjust knob/pot feels NICE. It's got that heavy damped feel I enjoy.
The fit and finish is excellent on the Rhino itself, including the 3d printed parts which cover the tension knob, fan covers, large pulleys, and stick connection thread adapter.
is anyone using the virpil gooseneck extension on the stock rhino base? I'm just wondering if you feel the forces with the stock motors are enough with this much of an extension?
I plan to use the VKB curved 20 cm extension with mine, although IIRC I measured the total distance from the actual gimbal to the grip and a 10 cm extension might be closer to what I have now (VKB Gunfighter base with the 20 cm extension).
Is it just me or is the virpil extension canted forward at the top? I wonder if this will be comfortable if it is, I've always used straight extensions
not that I've noticed, I already have the gooseneck. I plan on keeping the viper grip mounted sidestick. I was debating on whether or not to just get the winwing fssb specifically for that, and have the Rhino center stick for everything else.
I have that extension on my mongoose base. I've used it for a couple years now with a TM warthog grip. It is canted, but I've never had any problems with it. It puts the center of the grip back over the center of pitch rotation

It would need to angle rearward. Looks like the virpil one angles forward. I think I'm going to print a custom short one that angles rearward. See how that goes.
Hey does anyone find it weird when you take off force trim in the helis add it moves so freely? I feel like there should be some resistance but I really don't know
ahh ok, I'm not familiar with the extension up close, I wonder if things can be undone & turned around on the extension so it would work? It just caught my eye how similar the shape looked to the Virpil adapter
Geez, there goes my lucky number and up comes a new, fine number, bringing me closer to the finish line. Guess I better get on to print my stick I want to put on that thing, otherwise it's here before I'm done
Is anyone in here using the "VPC SharKa-50 Control Panel" from Virpil as a jetfighter throttle? I wonder how well it works for this purpose.. I'm trying to make room for a helicopter collective, and that's a difficult thing to do with a HOTAS throttle in the way. And the "VPC SharKa-50 Control Panel" follows the collective up and down, pretty neat.
