Yep this is a known issue. This is due to mechanical elasticity of the gimbal, belt tension etc. And I've added parameters to compensate this effect. I hope to get a new sw release out soon.

Yep friction default settings are not quite optimal and do cause some oscillations. I'll work on this too for the next release.

Walmis would be better to answer this, but from my understanding the Effects tab settings are going to augment the native ffb & if you check forced effect it will overwrite the native ffb, so to answer your question, maybe. Sorry I'm still unclear myself on a few of the details

Yeah, Forced means it will use spring/etc settings from VPforce settings, and won't let the game override them.
The idea was to have hardware force trim and prevent the game from taking over the spring settings. i.e. firmware controls the virtual center (trim) instead of the game.

i really like the idea of a diagram but it would be nice to make the labels more noob friendly. Are internal effects what comes from the forced checkbox? where does the game telemetry enter-is it dynamic device? and why is that a pool? why is sine wave in dynamic device? there is also a checkbox for periodic effects in vpconfigurator-does this digram mean there are two sources of sine wave-the game and the firmware?

Also is my understanding right that if I use just the Config tool and DCS, the only FFB effects I would get would be based on the FFB programmed into the particular aircraft — hence better FFB for F-14 vs the Hornet. If I want more FFB, I would need to use some telemetry export to convert that to FFB to the stick?

The way I understand it: internal effects are what you configure in the rhino app, dynamic are what come from the game. When they are greyed out, it’s because dynamic, by default, overrides internal. Therefore it means in this example, spring and damper come from the game and therefore ignore the internal setup effects. The forced enabled would basically stop this override from happening

The feel of the stick with FFB is quite a game changer. I love how there almost no stick pressure on the runway in the P51 but it becomes harder to move control surfaces when you pick up speed.

I only have spring and damper enabled as per Walmis's set up.
I wonder if it is the damper preventing the stick from falling forward
