Another concern I had was a guy on youtube having it overheat after about 90 minutes of stress testing. That’s admittedly a lot, but I do tend to use it for very long DCS sessions now and then, so maybe that could be relevant to me

Hey m8, not sure if this got covered or not but, Walmis has made a Loopback app that can effectively make any grip show up as apart of the Rhino base, then use something like HID Hide to stop the sim/game from seeing the joystick separately. I do this for my VKB KG12 v2 grip in IL2 as I have reached the 8 usb limit for that sim.

yep, use the VPforce Loopback app to "join" the grip & base, then use HIDHide to hide the joystick from whatever sim you choose

oh, sorry just miss read, that's funny I've played IL2 for a good few hours before & had no trouble, DCS lately has just been training missions though doing those for a good couple hrs at a time I never even heard the fans kick in very loud, or at all really, got a link?

Yep, it was a stress test for the purpose of overheating it, but my concern is primarily that I would be using it less intensely but for multiple hours at a time

well like I mentioned above I can say that I've used it for maybe upto 3hrs on IL2 hard to say how much on DCS lately but a lot of training missions for at least 2 - 3 hrs I've only seen temps at 34*

one thing with overheating is that planes tend to run out of either fuel or energy or both fairly quickly in a dogfight so you won't be yanking on the stick for hours

Also with it's adapters the Rhino can work with any grip from TM, Virpil, Winwing & VKB, so you don't need to buy the expensive bases if you wish to get a grip from another company
