Hello Guys, I'm trying to run epic games first time on arch linux and found heroic does this for epic
I installed a small game to try and see whether it works fine or not but It didn't work giving me an error with some log file that's attached here, can someone help me ?

hmmm I've see that could not load kernel32.dllcould not load kernel32.dll error many times but I've never seen anybody answering how to fix it :/

I have both because i'm on dual boot but most of the time I'm on linux for programming so I want to know whether it's a good idea to play here in my free time or it will be lower performance

it probably depends on the game, I've never seen performance issues (I don't even have windows)

some people report better performance for some games on linux, some people report better performance for some games on windows, in general I imagine the performance is similar in both platforms, you'll probably have less headaches on windows though, some games require tweaking on linux but I'd suggest to just try

just try and see what works better, there's no one size fits allone size fits all answer to that, it depends on the game, your system, etc

I asked because I know that epic was built for windows and heroic is for linux, also it uses some intermediate middleware between it and epic itself which is proton or wine, this should make some performance difference, but you said that people are saying that some games are better on linux that windows which is such weird saying but I will try to see how it may be better

for example, when elden ring came out, proton had fixes to improve the performance and it worked better on linux compared to the same system on windows

I wish that I'm free to try but I'm on egypt and the internet here is too much limited and expensive which can't give me that freedom so I will try some of my lovely games

you don't have to re-download the games to try them in heroic, you can import already installed games in heroic (instead of pressing Install in the install dialog press Import)

never tried but in theory yes, you can probably also copy paste the game folder to the linux partition and import that from there too
