J@akdev did you ever find a decent workaround for ld being missing? I'm trying to put rust/cargo on an image and running into the ld /etc/alternatives thing again
AYou could create the correct links on first boot
AOr inside the container create the link but remove everything after you use it

Bi just have a distroboxes/containers for all languages
Dalternatives cannot create symlinks on its own during a container build

JJany ideas here? The nvidia images have the right symlink and I'm trying to add it to all my images just not only the nvidia one, I thought a -f would do it

so if you just want builds and RPM installs to work, the above is all you need...
but you CAN go a step further, copy the contents of /var/lib/alternatives out, ostree container commit, and then copy them back to /var/lib/alternatives if you want to try to preserve that stuff I do the latter in my image... but it's not crucial just nice to have the extra info IMHO

Bit IS a hack, but it's required to install somethings, like the netcat RPM, it simply breaks without it
JI think copying back and forth is a bit janky, but just creating the directory, I feel like ugly but working is better, especially since like, stuff like rust doesn't work otherwise.
Jand since it's an image when we clean it up later no fuss, no muss.
BACreate the link inside the containerfile and it should work
ABut you may need to remove the link

Bi'm nursing a headache, just got up from a nap, and not validating my statements, but i'm pretty confident (hence my link from an issue posted a few months ago)
AActually there’s probably no harm in doing that
Abefore ostree would fail if there was data in /etc
ABut now it will just clean up

BI can't work on ublue tonight, need to do $DAYJOB, prep for some family stuff this weekend, and hopefully I'll get a few minutes to game myself
