Researching my question I don't think that's called rebasing. I'll try running a system update and see if that helps maybe.
DYeah so Bazzite, bluefin, etc. use 'rebasing' as a way of essentially creating a whole new system, sparing your personal documents.
DThe idea is that the system itself is static and immutable (cannot be altered), and that configuration happens within the confines of your home directory (typically somewhere in /var/home/$USER)
DIn my experience if something starts breaking, a rebase with a newer image (if available ) does the trick.
DWay, way easier than the traditional GNU/Linux workflow of figuring out wtf you broke hah
DAlso the smart folks behind these systems wrote a bunch of utility scripts accessible through the

IThe trouble is it's a fresh Bazzite install installed yesterday. I don't think there's anything to update. Games just keep hanging
IAnd on the same rig and games a few days ago before reinstalling I didn't have any games hanging.
Dhere's my wild shot in the dark: Have you done any configuration with Proton?
DLike, are you using a different version of Proton or Wine in the game's settings?

DYeah, troubleshooting is made easier with the knowledge that the underlying system cannot be modified. So either it works across the b oard, or you misconfigured something within Steam.

IMaybe I'll try rebasing to the same version. Reinstall everything and maybe it'll clear up
DPerhaps... remember that, according to what I know, your personal home directory will be retained between rebases unless you boot into the installation ISO and reformat everything
II was trying to do this with a gtx 1080 before and it was a headache with drivers. I just want a smooth console like experience on my TV haha
Doh heck yeah and I'm confident Bazzite/Bluefin and those variants are a great choice

Rprobably a dumb question but im new to this whole container-everything approach. If I install some package inside of a fedora container for example, does the package get updated automatically through topgrade?
Rmaybe fedora is a bad example because thats what the host is made of, but pretend I used arch or ubuntu as an example instead
Fdistrobox updates are handled automatically, so you're good

DI’m going to request that the Bazzite installer makes me some coffee or a snack while it installs for the first time.
