Apretty straightforward, you need to set a scaling driver that supports CPU boost. If supported, then you can toggle boost on/off easily:
Aamd-pstate-epp doesn't support CPU boost controls, though it should eventually arrive in kernel 6.9 or later

While not quite as exciting as yesterday's AMD XDNA driver publishing for Ryzen AI on Linux, a notable patch series out of AMD today on the Linux front is enabling AMD Core Performance Boost controls within their P-State CPU frequency scaling driver.

TI tried the pstate with cpu boost on my Go earlier today and it did not seem to play nice for whatever reason, maybe because it was set to power save by default or whatever but I reverted
BAre we talking about the power governor controls in simpledeckytdp or something else?
AFrom what I know, CPU boost control currently is only important on the ROG Ally, the Ally has a known issue with the CPU eating up excessive resources

Akind of. So at the bottom of SimpleDeckyTDP, you'll see a
scaling driver field. it's defaulted to amd-pstate-epp on Bazzite and NobaraAthe scaling driver determines the available governors and EPP options, as well as whether CPU boost controls are available on the device
BYeah I was able to use it on the Loki Max with no issues.
BWhen I slide it to performance mode the fan spools up to max rpm and I get extra performance.
Aas far as I know, CPU boost controls currently don't really make a big difference for anything except the Ally right now.
BOh it seems to have an impact on the Loki Max, unless something else I'm doing is also improving performance. I had it on balanced performance before and when I moved it to performance mode it was the difference between an unstable 60fps and a rock solid 60fps on more than one game.

BThere's a group of us at work that all have different handhelds. We can test it out if you want. I have a Loki Max, someone else has a GPD Win4, someone else has a Legion Go, and someone else has a steam deck.
TYou’re probably still using amd-pstate-epp unless you explicitly enabled the passive pstate or your not on Bazzite

Enable CPU Boost toggle, right? and scaling driver at the bottom of the plugin should show amd-pstate-eppAi'm assuming you set power governor to
