A framework 13 + eGPU is what I want. Being able to just connect it and boot a Windows VM (or just use Linux) is appealing.

one time I took my gaming pc and ran ubuntu/kvm on it then passed my video card / usb ports to the vm running windows annnd it was pretty great actually. had to compile a kernel with some pulse audip fixes to get the audio to not be choppy

I tried to go that route when rembrandt launched, but eGPU was really finicky under linux in my experience and I wasn't willing to put up with running windows
