The installer says that it needs at least 21.45GiB of disk space to install.

The Steam flatpak can't provide any sort of system integration, that's the biggest reason not to use it.

Like, gaming mode is pretty much a desktop environment, and you're not supposed to ship DEs in Flatpak. DE apps, sure. Not DEs.

Linux files type/structure makes more sense.... I have the Linux Bible™ is a good reference.

Tho now we're into hybrid/cloud container land and it's a good time to learn about how that's working too.

Having this team on the Deck experience is a key advantage over whatever MS ends up doing around the edges to improve Windows on handhelds. Putting in this level of effort to basically speed up system updates (which i doubt many users find is a major problem currently), shows the platform is maturing.
