I would look into alternative mount solutions.

After looking at figuring out a mount for myself I had originally wanted to go with a floor mount and extension but now I’m thinking the more accurate throw comes from a pedestal mount because the gimbal of the base itself is so far down it’s like having an extension already

Also it’s just heavy… I wouldn’t want to use a table mount even if they made one.

God dang that’s a serious mount!!

I’m thinking of doing a pedestal because I don’t want to use the extension..

After running it through a few mock walkthroughs (alerion and control surface checks).

The throw is pretty wide already so I love the unit how it is.

How are you liking the unit without an extension?

(Should also allow us to get slightly stronger feedback as well)

I did 3d printed support. Nothing fancy but it gives additional strength.
I don't need a extension, I even limited especially the forward throw, as well as the rest, to mimic the F-14 stick in game. I run kind of strong forces, which work out well, hard dogfight though will bring the rhino into thermal scale down. Throws off a little muscle memory but that is mostly lost in the moment. For warbirds and Helos a extension might be something to consider, but I don't miss one. Pretty happy as it is.

Look for the Virpil Collective thread on this discord. That will give you some ideas of retrofitting to an existing collective. I believe there is also someone else who built a collective from scratch. I'm half way through the Virpil mod. Just waiting for a longer belt.

The numbers are the size.

The larger size are stronger motors but the large ones are for pedals mostly or for custom builds.

The DIY kit is designed around the 57’s

Oh I have no doubt, I'm just not sure I want to hang onto the Libra until I get it. I'm looking into the Orion 2 now. It would be nice to remain in the WW ecosystem so I can keep using their amazing FA-18 grip. But there are also tempting offers from Verpil and VPC that more closely reflect helicopter cyclics in both grip and stem.
Lots to ponder

Due to the wait times on a Rhino (unless you DIY)

I recommend sticking to all current gear until you grab the Rhino.

After that rebuild the rig around the new much larger base.

I was originally thinking extension but due to the height of the unit and the length of the shaft on the Rhino it’s like having an extension already so you may need to adjust things to get them back into proper flight positions.

So I say… keep the WW base and you’ll really have something to look forward to when the Rhino comes.

The actual wait list is like 7months and the bot can tell you the average wait per unit is like.. 200ish days.

So get on that list now!

this baseboard build I just did is the first time I've had all the simpit hardware hard mounted effectively to its self in all my time flying DCS. I cannot emphasise how great it feels to give a boot full of rudder and not worry about the pedals or seat shifting
