Hi guys. I finished my Rhino this week and it is fantastic.
But I have some questions:

Runway Rumble effect in DCS F/A-18C is much weaker then in A-10C(II) and F-16C. Even if I put it on 100% (compared to 30% in A-10CII). Is it a bug or a feature? Or did I something wrong?
I don't understand Trimmer in Ka-50(_3). I set it to Instant like shown in the manual. But it feels weird. I would have thought that after trimming the stick would stay in position and neutralize the forces. But it still pulls backwards.
Any Tipps are very welcome.

not sure how I can get the periodic to work so that it does it's own minimum to maximum movement by itself. unless I misunderstand that one.. the spring effect works well when I drag it tho

periodic is just a shaker effect. The only thing in there that will "move the axis" is the spring force (and then moving the crosshairs)

Yes that's because of the gear strut data is different, you might need to tune it for specific aircraft to achieve optimal feel
Make sure you don't have any axis curves set in DCS, the stick should stay in the trimmed position if configured properly. To debug - follow the blue circle in the VP configurator, it displays the trimmed position. And the dot displays the actual stick position.

Ok. I added a 20% curve like I did with my Virpil. Maybe add this to the manual in the Ka-50 section.

I have had a couple week break from DCS. I came back and was prompted to update telem. Usually it brings my profiles in. This time it did not. Does the current build have a way to import them? Are we still using a config.user.ini? Sorry I tried reading back last night and didn't find anything that helped.

no, the user ini files were from the old non UI based config model. The config in the new version is stored in an xml file in your AppData folder.

The user configuration is carried forward from release to release, as are the system settings (which are stored in the registry).

The only exception to this is this specific release where the format of the system settings stored in registry has changed. Per the release notes, You will need to re-configure your system settings. All of your model settings will be retained.

First I appreciate all you and Walmis have done to make the Rhino and Telem a better product with each release. That being said you have a much more intimate understanding of how all this works, than the mere user. I read the same blurb in the release notes. It doesn't tell me what to do. When I ran Telem I had to reconnect to DCS and in the lower right there seems to be a pointer to profiles, which won't let you point to the folder containing them. Do I need to re setup the entire configurator and/or telem?

Those are for configurator profiles that you want to push to your device when TelemFFB starts or exits, they are a convenience feature and you don't need to use them if you don't have a need/desire to leave your Rhino with a different setup depending if you are/are not running TelemFFB. Those settings have nothing to do with individual model effect settings.

Is anyone running all sliders in vp software at or near 100? Is it even possible? For me it seems impossible to set anything at 100 without getting the beep error. Even the tiniest stick movement will cause the beep and the stick will flop over. It's making the process of fine tuning settings very difficult especially when adding telemffb into the mix and not knowing exactly which setting is the likely cause. I fly dcs and msfs.

I believe stick height/weight has a bit to do with it but different ppl can get instability at different settings. But I don't think anyone has all sliders set to 100%.

vpforce config is for your "global settings" Telemffb is to tweak the effects per aircraft (tbh I'm still on the older telemffb app)

basically the Settings Tab is where you set the overall limits for the base, then the Effects Tab is where you set what % of those limits the base will let the sim use eg. If you set the Spring to 100% in Settings Tab then to 50% in the Effects Tab the sim will be able to use 50% of the 100% Spring force.

Friction & Inertia (at least for my set up) seem to cause the most instability, you see on my Setting Tab Friction is set to only 10% then in the Effects Tab Friction is only 10%, so that is only using 10% of 10% if you get what I mean.

I have trouble understanding why the settings can seemingly go so far beyond the capability of the hardware. Why do we have to limit anything so far below the maximum just to avoid getting an error? If 100 was the true maximum for any setting this process would be much easier.

Yeah obviously Walmis would be the guy to answer that one but I gues it depends on the settings combination. Have you tried all the sliders in the Settings tab to 100% then Effects Tab put everything on like 1% & work up from there in small increments. Keep in mind that I have Friction on 10% of 10% so you will need to work the settings up in very small amounts.

With my dual 8604 “Greater One-Horned Rhino “ and my 8604 TPR FFB pedals, I’m at 100% on all sliders. But they are different animals than the “Common Rhino”.

I haven't tried that, but what is the purpose of setting anything to a percent of a percent? That seems redundant and unnecessary. One setting should be able to accomplish what you want.
