How can i get the unallocated space to be allocated to the bazzite partition? I tried formating it to btrfs just like bazzite but i still don't get the option to allocate more space to bazzite, how do i do this?
My monkey brain says maybe they need to be next to each other cause they have a starting and ending point so logically it would be imposible to allocate it without interfering with those two ext4 that are on the way, My problem is i'm afraid of deleting them cause i don't know if those were bazzite's partition made during installation, i dont know what they are, if they have nothing to do with bazzite then idk about deleting them but im scared of messing up bazzite by deleting them
any idea how to debug being unable to shutdown/reboot (kde image)? I click on reboot/shutdown, it seems to shut some parts of plasma off but it doesn't go all the way throught.
You can move them to the left and then expand /dev/sda8 to the right. Moving partitions starting points can be a bit risky, so maybe you can clone the two ext4 partitions + bazzite's btrfs into another drive for a backup and then perform the moving operation
for cloning partitions, you can simply right click and select copy and paste it into another drive. The metadata (name, file system, label, etc) is retained in what will be pasted too
It’s distros playground for and I won’t lose anything of value in these drives. You have Windows partitions so be careful of something happens with the drive blocks on these kind of operations. Always do these in drives you won’t bother losing data
Android and other established immutable Operating systems have a reset capability, that can be implemented in Fedora Atomic Desktops. This issue can act as a meta-issuetracker...
whats the best way to install a different kernel (i understand that i will be missing patches)? i need to install a kernel from a copr repo (@lukenukem/asus-kernel) to get a 6.9 kernel with appropriate patches for my laptop, since Bazzite is missing stuff and is on 6.8.
I tried rpm-ostree override remove kernel --install kernel-6.9.2-669.rog.fc40.x86_64rpm-ostree override remove kernel --install kernel-6.9.2-669.rog.fc40.x86_64 but there are a lot of dependentent kernel package conflicts.
