I haven't got my PC running right now but I've been attempting to write a guide for settings up Winapps on Bazzite but I'm stuck on a specific step and I'm just wondering if there's any wisdom here on the problem.

I've installed podman-compose with brew. I've set up the Windows container and that's running. I can access the web browser on an exposed port but I'm struggling to connect with freerdp (it has been layered).

When attempting to check the connection I'm getting "Connection reset by peer". It's the same issue as mentioned in this post in the bazzite forum. Are there any ideas on this? I'm thinking a networking issue.

Full reinstall would be preferable, switching is possible but you really need to know what you're doing

It's mostly appearance, KDE is a little closer to windows and GNOME is a lot closer to Mac OS

The default apps change between the two as well, KDE being mostly their own apps built in QT, and GNOME being mostly their apps built on GTK

KDE has a lot more fiddly knobs for little things but remains mostly Windows-like
Gnome has many extensions which can semi-completely alter its appearance and functionality

No major performance/functionality differences. Some I would call medium, but they somewhat leapfrog between major updates to each

There's functionality differences but it really depends on your use case, we customize gnome a bit as well so you're not getting the default experience.

Only thing really of note is that as of today only KDE has HDR support on the desktop. Others will catch up eventually

This was my KDE Plasma on openSUSE Tumbleweed.
You can do sooo many crazy things with it. It can even be overwhelming at first.

when I was new to linux... I learned all the KDE Plasma settings and thought: "this is linux" but I only learned aobut the desktop... not linux
