VI'm trying to find settings that make the display even semi-usable but it's... hard.
Zkay, so whats the consensus with removing feral gamemode? I know there is system76-scheduler that deals with process niceness and so, but found out some weird behavior with running games without it.
Im doing some testing with XIVlauncher.
This is what happens when launching the game without it enabled (image 1).
Now with feral enabled in the launcher (image 2) and running gamemoded (gamemode daemon, probably a leftover, image 2) now it works (image 3).
That reminds me back then, with heroic launcher and Dying light, the game refused to launch. It only launched if i opened Steam, which Im suspicious if the later uses gamemode in some way.

JI think it just works? Bazzite is Fedora-based, so user
authselect to enable system authentication using the pam_u2f feature, then register your Yubikey for your account using pamu2fcfg. I think I just followed a Fedora guide online.VThe terminal font size I needed it for it to be visible is pretty comical

Zare you using the flatpak? I think gamemode comes bundled. But for me has been a hit or miss. Can manage to launch it with both the bundled and the daemon from host
Dyes, systemd-cryptenroll, there's a guide floating around here. I have mine setup to unlock with tpm2 with pcrs 7+14 (due to the way ostree works), yubikey as a fallback, and recovery key

Hand it doesn't seem to reference gamemode in any way
KXIVLauncher works fine in bazzite, it has no requirement for gamemode
KOne of our earliest test suites
Zis referencing steam, and steam comes with gamemode in the rpm, so i would assume does as well in nix
KSteam gamemode and feral gamemode aren't the same thing
KSteam doesn't care one way or another if you have feral gamemode installed
KIt's why you have to add launch options to even use the thing
ZI think it steam gamemode (or bigpicture) is not a separate rpm

lsof -p $(pidof theprogramname) to see what dlls a process is loading up, all you're querying for are recommended rpm packages to be installed alongside the steamand if a fedora distrobox has the same repos as a regular fedora kinoite/silverblue then yeah, that thing is pointing to feral

KIt technically is, the UI is Steam but the actual thing showing it is game scope which is a separate RPM

Dwhat do you hope to prove though? like Kyle said, gamemode and steam's gamemode (which is really gamescope) are not related at all.
lsof may not give you the whole picture either, at times processes will hold on to file handles of loaded dlls, at other times they will let go once the library has been memory mapped. Its opening a can of worms if you want to go that route for investigating whatever it is you hope to find out
