I only have one Joystick installed at any given time, so yes, I'm using it with Helicopters, Steampunk-Jets and Electric Jets. It is certainly least suited for the likes of the Viper and I have a "special" config for it (stronger spring), but I can still appreciate effects like gun, stall, damage etc..... But if I wnated to show of the Rhino, I would pick a different Aircraft (prob F-4 or F1 and of course Helos).
Oh totally agree with showing it off with the F4 or Helos, the effects with them are just stunning. Absolutely adore having real force trim now when flying my Helo.
Any chance you could share your F16 config? I’ll use that as a baseline and see how i5 goes.
When I eventually turn on my gaming pc again - sure. However - the only difference to my basic config (the one I use with the steampunk jets) is that I increased the master spring gain and artificially decreased the calibration values to have the saturation of the stick axis increased. (Target was to have less throw and a "snappier" reaction for the viper). With the basic setup the Viper feels too sluggish.
Admittedly though - I haven't been flying the Viper much since I got the Rhino. I love the Viper, but my heart really beats for choppers and Iron Pigs like The F4 - especially since I own the Rhino.
I found the Rhino is great for the F-14 in finding that best speed for a turning fight. The feedback tells you where you need to keep the stick. The only problem, is that it seems to heat the motors up a lot. It's the only thing I've done which turns on the cooling fan every time
This is the story of my journey into Motion Simulation, how I decided which one to buy, my experience and things learned over the past 3 months of ownership.

This is the introduction of the Motion Integrated G-Seat, my new invention in motion simulation! This device is a combination of a motion platform and a G-Seat, able to provide an unprecedented sensation of motion and acceleration while driving or flying simulated vehicles. Hi. What is the general consensus of adding an extension? I'm looking at adding about 120mm to my Rhino with my WW F-16EX grip. I'm mostly a DCS flyer, FW and RW, some MSFS.
Anything much more than 12cm would cost a lot of force, and the gimbal itself is constructed in such a way as it comes with 10cm extension already, so using 10(ish)cm extension you in effect have 20cm.
regarding the G seat, i've never used a different platform so I cant do a direct comparison, but I do like the seat, there are pros and cons with it - but overall I had blast building it and learned a lot along the way. Essentially the Bergison's G seat replicates heave, sway, and surge. You can mix in a little roll, pitch, and yaw - but in most cases it's not really necessary. The seat flaps and belt do give the sensation of the g forces although its probably more effective replicating strong positive g's than strong negative g's. This really isnt a problem if you fly the aircraft properly and invert rather than placing strong negative g's on the aircraft which i'm told pilots and airframes like to avoid anyway. What i didnt like about the first version of hte chair was that there was some slack in the rods and motors when direction was reversed and the movement seemed a little jerky for my tastes. The modifications being done now (different rod connection type, and servos instead of dc motors) should address these issues. If indeed that's the case when I'm done, I'll love the seat for high-g flight.
I also mounted a home grown buttkicker to the seat, but honestly i get better feedback through the MFG FFB pedal mod I just did from hiob. its really fantastic. I'll probably be able to make the butt kicker a little more subtle because of that after the seat rebuild which may improve its overall performance. Still waiting on my rhino (I'm in the low 100's now, whoo hoo!) I suspect that will also add quite a bit of immersion.
I do not unfortunately. I looked briefly before I decided to build this but couldnt find anything I liked. All of the motion guru's hang out here though, you could probably ask that in one of the community forums. https://www.xsimulator.net/

I’m brand new to the rhino but I tried one of the profiles from knowledge thread last night and it completely screwed up my stuff, use caution! I could’ve done something wrong but it changed my stick calibration everything…..
