RFirst experience with Nvidia certainly won't be 100%, I would not recommend for their first experience. Only if you're willing to give the assist
CIdk how similar bazzite is to Fedora but I couldn't get the computer to the desktop after installing Fedora on an Nvidia system 
SI would dual boot, but I heard it doesn't work well, so if I do it I'll probably format all my drives and start anew
CI've personally never had a problem with dual booting

RFor streaming games, doing a unlisted YouTube live is everything I needed. AV1 or HEVC on OBS is the way to go.
For anything else that won't play nice with copyright, I set up a Owncast on a VM. It's very simple, just ran their script, configured caddy for the SSL certificate (optional) and it's ready to go

DI've got two folders in /ostree/deploy/default/deploy that are around 16.8GB. Is one safe to delete or should I just leave them alone?
SI probably wouldn't even use my preamp with it, I'd probably just use a keyboard I have as the instrument, if I want to use one

Gyeah after experiencing bazzite on my legion go probably not the best starter distro. I would say let them get familiar with something like linux mint first

VOn Desktops I find Bazzite to be more reliable. A lot of handhelds have a lot of quirks which are a pain to navigate through. The Desktop experience is a lot easier.
Gyeah I bet so which is why I said probably. But who knows what issues you could encounter which is why I suggest a started distro unless you want them to be their tech support I guess
VHonestly, I had more issues with Mint.
VMy music player just would not work. Appimage and flatpak. No bueno.
