yeah after experiencing bazzite on my legion go probably not the best starter distro. I would say let them get familiar with something like linux mint first
On Desktops I find Bazzite to be more reliable. A lot of handhelds have a lot of quirks which are a pain to navigate through. The Desktop experience is a lot easier.
yeah I bet so which is why I said probably. But who knows what issues you could encounter which is why I suggest a started distro unless you want them to be their tech support I guess
Howdy y’all! I’m having an issue- I’m on the ROG ally and when I’m on battery, setting the TDP in either HHD or steam overlay has no effect on the TDP that is being reported. Ex: I’d set the TDP to 18 watts and when in game I’m seeing 30+ watts being used. Curious if this is a known issue for the ally or maybe just a user error. Thanks in advance
I think Bazzite and other Ublue spins are great places to get started: - No drivers to install - No worry about updates - App store with apps that work reliably - Room to learn through distrobox - Near impossibility of breakage
they can choose bazzite im not gonna go against it, it's just probably not in my recommendation unless obviously you are hard on gaming which in that case probably likely
Obviously. I'm just pointing out an issue a new Linux user could run into on an immutable they possibly wouldn't elsewhere (where distro-provided packages are installed vs being mostly flatpaks, etc)
