Athe motors do seem to produce fairly little heat, which is quite impressive, but we don't really know what that means in practise
Aalso a closed design like that without fans might have real problems dissipating heat if you ever do run into issues
Adoes the moza software give you temps and have they said anything about heat protection?

AI’m really surprised that there’s no temperature readout in the software
AWalmis pointed out in the comments that measuring heat from the outside/that material won’t give a useful reading, so it’s really a matter of “who knows how hot it gets?”
Asurely the motors have built-in sensors and protections, right?

WYes. VPForce will email you and inform that your Rhino will soon be ready. The email has the instructions on what to do (fill out their online order form). Once that is done it, you will get an invoice after a few days. Once that is paid, shipment should happen soon after. I reserved a Rhino 1/25/24, got my notice to preorder 7/22, and it shipped 7/29 - a very easy process. Only bump in the road was me having to contact Visa to authorize payment (Since I didn't a history of buying stuff in Lithuania

1What are you supposed to run for amps on the main config page? My psu output defaulted to 4 but I have a 9a psu. I would assume it would be safe to put 9 there? What about for the motors? I have the standard size motors
TWalmis has a video on his set up page that shows how to do it and what he recommends but I forget what it is off the top of my head

I will admit, I didn't know about the IR testing on metal and that it isnt very effective (lesson learned). And happy to do more testing. I have flown with it for long periods of time and never noticed any issues though from heat.
Obviously more testing can be done and I am happy to try things suggested from others... its a learning process for me as I've never owned a FFB device, so was just trying to do my dilligence with what I did know and things I stumbled upon while doing my research.

RIt looks reasonably well built. I just think it will be disappointing on first impressions when people plug it in and start using it. This is it? This is force-feedback?
JI think they have time to figure out the software, i got feedback from them that they identified a lot of the issues i had and brought up. So hopefully things like force trim are just working in the next update (they claim it will be)
JMy hope is, on launch a lot of those issues are just solved, it seems like they should at least be able to figure that out.

BForce trim is pretty much the number one reason for ffb.

Afor me the best stress tests were shooting down Su-30s in the F-18 mission and the ultimate test was flying normal missions with the Dr.1 in Il-2

Ayeah that's kind of odd, since dcs does force trim all by itself afaik so it should just work

Jso if Direct Input gets a request to set spring force to 0, and you have spring force set to 100 in the moza cockpit software, it just uses the 100
JIn the latest software I have, it goes to like 50%, but not zero
Jand the offset for where you release the trim button, is like 1/4th of what it should be
Ain rhino software you have the option of overriding by setting any settings "sticky", otherwise the game gets the last word exactly because of this
