BI often feel like I have to use it thought? I install programs regularly. Everytime I use any flatpack there's always something that doesn't work. I just spent the last hour or so trying to install google chrome without it being a flatpack, because of course it also had proglems with certain developer features not working). It worked once I finally got it installed as a non-flat pack.
BIs all "installed" applications on linux not matter what system you use basically "containerized" ?
Bor is it only flatpacks, and rpm-ostree is only making the install process secure?

Tyou'll run into slower updates, dependency issues that can break updates, etc.

Ktypically you shouldn't need to layer all that many things. A lot of things are fine in flatpak or distrobox etc.
BI've not had a single important flatpak work properly for me.

KThe things which I do have to layer, I tend to use bluebuild to put into a custom oci, rather than locally. But I do those on a Kinoite base. I only actually use Bazzite on my Ally at the moment.
Tdiscord on Linux has issues regardless of package format which is why so many vencord clients exist

Ronly issue I have for now is black tearing with NVIDIA and Gnome, Intel and AMD works fine
TBI think I'm just running away from any distro that uses either flatpak, distrobox, layered rpm, or whatever fancy things that make everything more complicated in the name of security. If I've downloaded a thing, and run it. I've given my consensus for it to do whatever stuff it wants to do! I don't even need a software store front, automatic updates or anything. Next distro for me will maybe be Arch Linux, and two days later, probably back to Windows^^...
IDistrobox is cool, you can just use any distro like arch, openSuse, ubuntu
