Howdy, quick question.
I'd like to build a helicopter rig, so I want to have as long of an arm as possible. Mounting the base horizontally with a right angle adapter would give me significantly more room, any reason this wouldn't work?

Seems like the roll axis would feel weird. The whole stick would be translating right and left instead of just pivoting. At least that's what I see in my head lol

Mounting it upside down would resolve that but then it'd be a 180 adapter and the horizontal arm would need be quite long to not hinder the ROM and it would move vertically when pitching back and forth.
I see why nobody seems to have experimented with this

Also using a 200mm extension already give you great throw that you don't need it to be even longer

Quest3 has better lenses, displays are worse, also it does always use compression, while G2 isn't. However due to lenses being pancake instead of fresnel (g2) Quest3 can have some edge over G2 - Q3 is not not losing sharpness outside center of view while not moving your head, but just eyes. Just for clarifying. Pimax looks better, but it does have QA/Support issues, so it ends up bit of lottery. However alternatives are much more expensive

I think the control boards are on the motors, with a logic board handling connections etc.

The virpil one might be the only one, not entirely sure its fully supported though.

I got like four 5- way hats a 3- way on the side, four regular buttons, and two triggers, one with dual stage, the other with a flip up.

It's not 1:1 of anything, but it certainly gives options.
And runs natively on the rhino.

Yes, the kit includes all parts except the motor kit (1. DIY FFB kit: 57BLF03 x2 + USB - 299 € (+ VAT)) and power supply unit.
Both needed to be purchased separately.

The AFCS implementation for the MSFS H145/160 from HPG is complete and functional for all 3 axes (Cyclic, Pedals, Collective). However it is a very unique case only made possible by direct involvement of the developers and external controls we have in MSFS via SimConnect.

The cyclic/pedals are not a simple "follow the axis" implementation. There were several key things were needed to implement it including specific telemetry indicating the state of the AFCS trim system and specific LVARS that could be set to indicate whether the axis is moving by user input.

The collective was actually the easiest to implement. If the user is not pressing the collective trim release, we simply do not send any axis data to the sim and just "follows the axis".

All that said, DCS does not provide the same external controls, or telemetry that would be needed to pull off a similar implementation.

From what I have read, the ED team intends to implement AFCS on the cyclic, but I would not expect we will be able to externally implement pedals and/or collective just due to DCS limitations.

Rhino supports Virpil grips fully. VKB doesn't need support, only an adapter for attachment (remember include it in your order); you will use your blackbox, there is no electrical connection.

Moza is new to the flight sim game. Brunner equipment is in actual flight schools and they've been doing this for an extremely long time and the software is great. Completely different markets.
