It's funny because I'm going to buy another one without casters for my H145 build because I don't want to cannibalize my office chair. The setup is different with the recline function.
If I ever make a second cockpit, to have a cockpit dedicated to flying and one to driving, that's a chair I'll seriously consider because there are so few on the market and that is a very solid price
Yeah the way the profile one mounts is totally different. I remember paying attention to measurements because I needed to know something for some reason and that difference really stood out to me

What’s up fellas, quick question: are there any settings I can use that’ll keep the stick centered using force trim in DCS helicopters? It seems to sag away from the trimmed center.
So I hit trim and remove my hand, the stick sags away from the center just enough that I have to keep my hand there. I noticed it mostly with the Apache.
There’s a setting in effects, I think “balanced spring” is what it’s called, I’m new to the rhino, that helps that! Also in the spring effect there’s a tab you can check that’ll use sprung force to help hold it in place.
a continuation of what bama said above, are you running an extension? how heavy is your grip? Also how strong are the spring forces you are using? The apache forces i find are quite strong in practice, but also don't have an extension. also do you have adaptive re-centering on? that's a good thing to be running as well I find
but i'm surprised you find it so noticeable with Rhino. imo Rhino is the only way to make the DCS viper tolerable, maybe it's the throw range and smoothness, I don't really mind it
The problem with the Viper in DCS ist the hard coded Deadzone which is essential for FSSB. But it is a bad thing for throw sticks. But ED translated the FSSB deadzone 1:1 into the throw. The only way to eliminate this is to create a custom curve in which you do the opposite of a deadzone. Literally you have to skip the deadzone area around the center, so the axis start at the point where you have control surface input.
I use a reworked HP power supply unit. You need ~19V with ~10A. Best with a 5,5-2,5 mm connector. Some people use Meanwell LRS 350/24 PSU. But then you need to build your own enclosure and cable for it. The balance spring is constant and persistent and will help offset the imbalance caused by a heavy grip and/or offset extension, but it will only get you close. Once you have balance spring set so that the stick more or less stays where you put it with all other effects disabled, then enabling Adaptive Recentering will nicely keep the stick centered regardless of where the actual center point is placed via force trim.
Adaptive recentering will do it on its own, but it is best to negate most of the work it needs to do by setting up Balance Spring first.
With my heavy Alpha Prime grip, I have run both the 200mm offset and the z-extension. With the above configured, I have zero issues with the stick maintaining center in any position.
