trying to figure out how to engineer my current customized monstertech mount wor with my VP Rhino. I live close to the 80/20 LLC company so I can use them to cut and mill the extrusion for me. Is the Rhino base heavy enough if mounted to a square 80/20 base it will not move while being used?

I may be the minority but i hated the Honeycomb Yoke. Pitch was too stiff with a bit of sticktion and slop. Also hate their mounting system. I do love the Bravo though.

Can't say Iv'e tried it, but that's what will have to beat, and I can get it for the equivalent of €220 with all the benefits of buying locally, including five year mandated local warranty, 14 days mandated trial period etc.
Virpil also charge €90 in shipping, and I get 25% vat on top and gives me none of that.

That does sound like a relatively personal circumstance and calculation, though.

I.e.: Virpil would have to hit €200 for it to be worthwhile for you.
(Which is unlikely to happen, as they're aiming for ~€500)

By no means a bad consideration, but it doesn't apply globally.
(Esp. with the issues Honeycomb is going through.
Dunno if they resolved that yet.)

We need something in between the Honeycomb and the more expensive yokes like Virtual Fly’s Yoko+ which I have currently, and Virpil have the chops to make something very nice in that bracket, and honestly they should have done and released this a couple of years back.

Not a hard sell at all, at least to those who know the quality of their stick bases. Honeycomb made a step up from the entry level but it’s still not great quality and I would have snapped this up in a heart beat back then, with the swappable yoke handles too, they would have had my money instead of Virtual Fly for sure.

But, I am in the position now where the next upgrade is only going to be FFB so I am also disappointed there was no FFB option, but that’s obviously going to be a jump in price over this.

Agree 100%. My next yoke will be FFB as i already have an Alpha (hate it), the TM boeing yoke (my go to), and an old PFC Cirrus yoke (built like a tank but over 14 years old and too unwieldly). I have been contemplating converting the PFC yoke to FFB as its definitely large enough and sturdy enough to handle it.

I don’t have the ability to build a rig rn, I’ve had the VPForce mounted on cheap amazon desk mounts and its pretty flimsy, can anyone recomment good sturdy desk mounts for the Rhino?

Hi - I have seen, that you own both: HF-8 and Rhino. Maybe you can help me. Since I installed and used the Rhino my HF-8 stopped working properly. I can test the motors in the Software and it says connected, but when I fly in DCS there are no mor vibrations. I guess it collides somehow with the VPForce telemetry app. Any ideas?

Yeah doing things like disabling any adblocker, using a different browser, or using a different device may help.

Add G-Force effect as optional for helicopters (was not previously available)
DCS/IL2/MSFS/XPLANE
New G-Force effect for fixed wing aircraft
- See The Manual for a bit wordier description
- The original effect worked OK, but the "curvature" of the applied force would often lead to oscillations or a jerky feeling
- The new effect uses a linear calculation based on the min/max G settings to determine the primary force factor
  - The physical stick deflection is then used as a factor to determine the final applied force. For any given g-loading, "the harder you are pulling, the more force you will feel"
  - The range of stick deflection that results in %100 applied force is adjustable
  - Allows for negative G effect also.
- For DCS/IL2, If both the new and old effects are enabled at the same time, the new effect takes precedence. The legacy effect was not previously available for MSFS/XPLANE.

The F-4 has its own g-effects and don't need the TelemFFN effect.
In fact the new effect comes very close to how the F4 feels. (because essentially it mimics the effect the bobweights have)
So if you want to have that in any plane. Now you can have it.

hardware trim is a function of the default spring effect which is created by configurator when no sim is running. That effect is overridden when a sim starts and creates its own spring effect.

You can use the "override trim" checkbox to force the hardware trim bindings on the spring effect owned by the sim (but this will override any in-game trim following that may be native to the sim).

Hmm… I forgot how wonky IL2s FFB implementation is. They manage two discrete effects for x and y. The override only seems to affect x or y, never both. But as soon as you release the button, the sim sets it back to center again.

You could enable “sticky”, but you’d lose all the dynamics of the spring effect from the sim.
