BHow do functions work in terms of modules/bundling? Are your functions in a project effectively bundled into a giant script, and effectively is just the same as workers? Can you use npm packages in functions?

BI'm wondering if it's better to do my backend as a pages project using functions, or a regular worker
BRouting libraries like Hono do things like generating some special data structure so looking up the route gets faster, but that's irrelevant for workers since IIRC requests will rarely hit the same machine twice, so all those work are just unnecessary overhead.
Wthey can hit same metals twice but reducing from less than a millisecond to even less than a millisecond is very inconsequential, the rest of your code will be far far slower than routing ever is
Wpick what makes more sense for you, hono is great, functions default stuff is great, itty-router is great, lots of things you can use
better to prioritise what makes sense from a dx/usability prospective than worry about micro-optimisations in perf

BI was also thinking about the cost of including library's code which needs to be parsed and run, and well a dependency is a dependency you need to maintain. But I see your point.
RAre my API functions being scanned?
Im looking out the Real time logs for my pages functions and i see random api calls to endpoints that do not exisit such as:
/api/liferay
/api/users/admin/check
so many other randoms..
and despite not having any functions there, cloudflare returns a 200 OK?
are these cloudflare pings? or what are they?
my guess is that all routes to /api/* are allowed but if function does not exist it should block or not pass through...
any help much appreicated

ICheck if you have a 404.html. If not then Pages will assume SPA mode and will always serve an index.html even for not found routes.

JI checked workers routes under domains to see if the cloudflare function would be present there for this domain and its not. Not sure if a lot of additional config needs to happen but the cf function is currently up and running
JI'll follow up on my old message lol -- I can't see fail closed under Workers Routes, or any worker even available under workers routes, because we're using cf functions which technically isn't an isolated worker?
I can add the route but it doesn't matter since worker is none regardless -- theres nothing to match to it and indicate whether to fial open/fail close

KThis right here... lotta folks wasting time on optimizing a near-zero to even nearer-zero (every mainstream router) instead of their code that is the real slowdown, haha

CWhats the real difference between workers and functions
Wfunctions are just workers underneath so not much
Wfunctions are just nicely packaged with workers and have their own file based routing system
CAny limitations of one vs. the other?
Wfunctions usually lags behind a bit in terms of features due to the way it's implemented (e.g. newer bindings will take longer to be supported, logpush and other things like that aren't supported)

MHi, I'm trying to build a full-stack application with Pages and Functions. My framework is Angular. I've added a functions folder, and I have a single route currently, however when I send a request to that route it returns the Angular app HTML rather than the expected response.

MHello! I’m currently trying to make an ab-test with a pages function. I'm using a next js static site (SSG) but can't get it to work. Has anyone done this before and gotten it to work?
