there has never been a better time to get into rf. you can buy budget spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers for like $100, where a used one used to cost $5,000 and up, meaning, the equipment you need to understand, measure, and work with RF is actually attainable now for anyone. also there is so much info online now, youtube and such, and so many cheap development kits. all you have to do is give it the time it takes to learn and understand and it will all come together. it will also open a whole new world because it applies to anything that is AC. even looking at reactive power on the grid at 60 hz, that's not rf but you would have a better understanding because the "magical" things happen when you go from dc to ac.

true, it is great time for it.
but there are still lack of open source resources in terms of models for designing these cicruit

for one instance, we were working on creating a half duplex RF circuit on ADS and genesys. where most of the time went on stalling due to many people not having the required models for few IC such as LPF and Amp with them. we had create custom one from there...

i did see the reviews/specs
it's a good upgrade from prior version but nothing fancy.
higher BW, higher version of USB, PCle
i thought of buying one but then i realized that i have a lot of unused SBC

i had noticed few people stating that it overheats a lot and would require an active cooler

and the most amazing thing is i got to know to, is about pi gen micro(https://github.com/raspberrypi/pi-gen-micro) during the release.
