Easiest way to mess with the center position is messing with the calibration values. I wouldn’t recommend though, but rather bring the base closer to the seat if possible. Also in most helicopters the cyclic position in cruise is slightly forward. Perhaps an inch or two. If you are „a long way forward“, you‘re going way to fast probably. But maybe that is a matter of different perception or definition.
