AI had to modify the VKB adapter because it as-is would not reach the pogo pins on my MCG Ultimate grip and while tinkering I noticed the hole runs through the whole adapter block, which made me think... Is it possible to remove the mini-DIN connector and route the grip-to-Blackbox cable through the whole base?

YLet me start saying that I totally love Rhino FFB. I totally love what it adds in term of immersion. Unfortunately I ran lately into an issue with IL2, which is happening quite often. The stick would suddenly shut down out of nowhere in a middle of a combat, making the distinctive sound as if it was shut off by pressing the button. Then I push the button and turn it on, and it starts working again. During the operation, I usually crash, as I loose all controls which is really frustrating. Any idea what might cause this? This is quite annoying. Many thanks in advance.

FFrustrating since the only way to get ffb back in dcs after jt happens is to reslot

Some bug fixes and general enhancements. QoL update for MSFS24 users tired of random telemetry during menu transition and cut scenes. Does not solve all of the issues but helps a lot. Thanks @smitty for finding the simvars being used to catch these conditions.General

- Effect IDs visible in effects monitor (to match effect IDs visible in configurator debug tab)
- "Keep forces on Pause" feature now honors all active spring/damper/inertia/friction effects
DCS
- Option added in system settings to disable export script checking/auto-install for those using non-standard save games locations
IL-2
- Improved effect management during IL2 game window focus loss
- Added IL-2 system settings option to leave effects running during window focus loss. Can assist with effect tuning but may lead to odd behavior and/or stuck effects
- Added discrete effect settings for gunfire/rocket/bomb (was previously a single "weapon release" effect)
MSFS
- Work around some of the active telemetry issues in MSFS2024 when in menus, avatar mode and cinematic cut scenes
- Added many basic profiles for default MSFS2024 aircraft
- "Axis Control" now enabled by default

BI’ve been lurking here for a couple of months watching my Rhino order get closer and closer. I’m currently using the WinWing Super Libra w/ extension and the WW Hornet grip. Once my Rhino ships I’ll be selling the Super Libra, but my question is whether to retain my WW Hornet grip to use with the Rhino, or pickup a Thrustmaster Hornet grip. In other words, adapter or no adapter, or do either of these grips work better or more recommended for use with the Rhino? I’m happy with my WW grip, but the TM grip is nearly the same, so would just prefer to go with the better option from the start.
ZHonestly if you like the winwing grip I’d stay with it unless you really wanted to try something different. From what I’ve seen from winwing, the switches and trigger is already pretty tactile, so I’m not sure if the TM grip will really be that much more advantageous. I went straight to a Tianhang grip for my first hornet grip and really enjoy its feel and tactility, but that’s another $300+
BThanks for the feedback. I was really just wondering about the best integration with the Rhino. But if they all need adaptors anyway, I guess it wouldn’t matter. I do like the WinWing grip

SI have the same gear and it works great. You likely won't need the WW extension on top of the Rhino adapter

BHi guys, any tips for setting the Rhino up for the F-4 in DCS? I'm finding flying level and air refueling a complete nightmare. The aircraft seems so unstable in pitch and much too light for my preference. I've set the FFB gain in the F4 special options to 200% for roll and pitch but looking for something better. Any tips?

FThat setting is a must for keeping the stick centered and helps with straight and level flight and autopilot.

BThat was much better. Thank you. Managed to plug in instantly and stay plugged in. It handles much better now. I wonder what else I can change to make it even better.
BI'm curious if you utilize their nice looking extension (Tianhang) with your Rhino. I need to figure out how to make that work - just ordered both of them. Too nice looking to pass up. Maybe I'll need to install that Rhino throw limiter...
ZI do, just know that its not an exact 1 to 1 replica of the real extension, but still really nice.

BLooks great. I am curious how close it will come to my center console in my pit, but I’m not pushing forward on the stick often so likely ok. Thanks for the pics. I’m excited to make the change.

IFAQ states that Rhino produces 9N of force which equates to 5 kg of force. Any conversion table I looked up states 1 N =0.1kg so 9N =1 kg of force. So I am curios about how math was used to calculate 5 kg of force from 9 N of force? Thank you!
HWhen converting torque into force you need to take the lever into account, which is < than 1m and therefore amplifies the force (/.2)

HHow much pull force in kg you get depends on the overall length of your lever. (Axis of rotation to middle of hand)
