AThe "frameDelay" setting for each preset in my earlier screengrabs seems to control frame rate. It's set to 0.05 which 20fps. I do wonder though if gifs are really the right format if you want higher quality. Why not video? Gifs are essentially just a weird historical relic and should probably have been put out to pasture 20 years ago
Atwo reasons gifs are nice: Easy to post to social media. Square camera format is easy to walthrough navigate scenes with

AOr is it about gifs being accepted in comments where videos are only in main posts? I don't do a ton of social media so I'm probably missing some subtlety here.

AGifs autoplay on some of them, video has to be activated. Generally easier to use.
Now facebook changed their display format so the ones from open brush are actually huge (about the same size as the videos)
Haven't tried making a square video yet, and not sure how the reformat algos would handle it.

ANFTs can't be mp4 video? I thought they were basically just a url.
NThe problem is that video do not autoplay on opensea:

Avideo do not autoplayThey should fix that. Autoplay should be off by default if there's audio (or at least muted) but on by default in most other cases. I've actually got a Firefox plugin that turns off autoplay for everything but then I'm weird.

AGifs are built for sharing, memes are at least half the internet now

AGifs are built for sharing,no. gifs are used for sharing because of a cluster of poor usability decisions by browser vendors and web developers.
MVideo has come a long way since the social media age, and is miles more efficient and better looking than you could hope to achieve with gifs. It's a shame it's treated like a secondary format by the platforms still

Anyhow, they tend to fit box-like column formats well.
Inside open brush they are currently easier to use, in general, even if not quite as sharp.

MI received a scholarship from Unisys, so they bought me 
Agifs are bigger than the equivalent video file unless you're doing something very weird with your compression settings (or doing pixel art)
AAlso, can add them in the background without much overhead, which is something I've been thinking about a lot, though haven't used much

Afilming video on video didn't work well, iirc. also the gifs fit into box frames better
AIn terms of concrete feature changes from this - can i summarise?
- Someone will hopefully play with the gif presets inside Unity and suggest some new presets
- If I get feedback about the quality setting, then I will tweak that
- Still need to pin down whether quality issues is related to post-processing or not.
- I'm considering adding user presets to the config file so allow people to define their own gif presets.

AI'd really appreciate improvements to the docs around video, gif and image export. I don't use it enough. You lot use it all the time - you can do a much better job of documenting it than I could.

As far as documenting, don't really have anything to add to what's in the original tilt brush documentation
I usually just hit the camera button and push record, haven't experimented a lot with it. Haven't done paths for a while.
As far as export, just goes in the documents/open brush/snapshots folder (or video) and grab it from there

AI know some sites were autoconverting gifs to autoplay webm to cut their bandwidth bills.
AAChrome's autoplay policies are simple:
Muted autoplay is always allowed.
Autoplay with sound is allowed if:
The user has interacted with the domain (click, tap, etc.).
On desktop, the user's Media Engagement Index threshold has been crossed, meaning the user has previously played video with sound.
The user has added the site to their home screen on mobile or installed the PWA on desktop.
