NIn the meantime is there a way to fix the double tapered marker on Sketchfab? I did not think that this brush would give me problems
MThat sort of support will rely on the closed platforms being happy about accepting open standards, and users pushing for it. For example VR chat has to be processed in unity and uploaded as unity’s proprietary format. It does happen to support the tilt brush toolkit though. No GLTF runtime support at all. If you’re interested in wearables then the platforms should be considering VRM avatars, which again is implemented as a GLTF extension.
MI can’t comment about Sketchfab support I’m afraid, not looked at it a lot (after they didn’t have time for us)
AIn a lot of these cases, we need these platforms to talk to us, or at least respond if we contact them. That's often the tricky part.
ANew to discord, having an issue I can't solve with OB. This first screenshot is from the apps camera that I used in this painting a year or so ago. The foreground and background strokes are blurred, but there is no blurred vignette. I have since gone back into the same painting and tried to take photos, but there is no blurring effect at all. Was this in an update to the app?

A"A year or so ago" would have been before Open Brush was released. So - did you take this screenshot in Tilt Brush? Our first release was in January this year.
AIf it was Tilt Brush, then it's a bunch of stuff was changed by Google to make it possible to release as open source and it's hard to track down all those differences. If you just mean "I used an earlier version of Open Brush" then I might be able to dig a bit deeper to see what changed.
AIt was 100% open brush as my painting is still in there, and I've taken screenshots within the OB app since and they don't look similar, everything is in focus.
AI'm a bit stumped. We've never had a depth of field effect. The 1.0 release didn't have bloom but it was then fixed. Multibrush had more effects but you're certain it was Open Brush... The only effects I'm aware that we've ever had is Bloom and Vignetting. I guess bloom could be mistaken for a depth of field blur - but it responds to brightness - not distance between the brush-stroke and the camera.
UIn the experimental build, I see that the pictures taken do have a depth of field like effect. @annahoo. is this the kind of blur you are talking about?
ADefinitely not vignette because I customized the config file specifically to get rid of that (and have been able to toggle it back on and check to make sure it's not the effect I'm looking for). I haven't downloaded multibrush either. That might be the effect, I'm not sure, I've got another photo take in app of the same painting, different angle that might also show the effect better

Awhere as now, same painting in OB, the background/foreground blur isn't happening.
AI've always used the in-app camera, not the quest camera.

ANo. It's something we need to from our side. I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this. Searching the discord I can see people complaining about too much tilt shift but nobody commenting on the fact that it suddenly disappeared entirely. It's be grateful for some input from other artists.

VOh I was a noob and had post processing off hehe, changed that and now I have Tilt Shift on Steam, Oculus and even tried the Beta branch too and all have Tilt Shift on
Ahmmm. ok. so my next suggestion for @annahoo. - can you try removing your Open Brush.cfg entirely? (move it somewhere else and restart the app - you can move it back afterwards)
VTried Quest too, all good, no issues with Tilt Shift my end.
AOK just removed the config file, went into the same painting and took a screenshot and this is what it gave me. Vignette blur yes, but not the tilt shift
ANot sure what you mean by "vignette blur" (the vignette effect darkens - it doesn't blur) - that looks like tilt shift to me
Aok by vignette blur I just meant, it's blurred where vignette would typically be, the outer edges. That's not the effect I'm trying to get back though. If you check the edges of my first screenshot that I'm trying to recreate, the bottom right corner in the orange for example isn't blurred, but the black marks in the foreground are, as are the peach and orange marks in the background

Ayou're right though. it does look like depth of field.
AUnfortunately no, I grabbed that from my instagram, I had deleted the original.
AIt reminds me of an expensive camera lens that blurs the background and foreground, it's just such a nice effect that I'd love to keep incorporating into artwork

ACan you explain what you're doing in a bit more detail? Specifically the "in Unity" bit. Are you using the Unity SDK (or Toolkit as it's also known) to import an exported sketch into Unity?
VShould do as long as you have the SDK dropped in, haven't experimented with it myself but I remember seeing a demo scene about it in the SDK somewhere showing the music reactivity working?

Figured it out!
There is a Tilt Brush Audio Reactivity prefab in the Tiltbrush/Prefab folder.
You have to drag it into your scene. The prefab provides an Audio Reactivity Manager script that computes all the beats which are used by the TB shaders.

In the end I read the shader code, saw that they were drawing values generated by a script. I was about to put the script in my scene when I figured there has to be a prefab for this.... And found it!

UI apologize for repeating myself but I asked a few days ago about an issue im having with both open and tilt brush. Its just black screens, i can see and move my controllers but thats it. Im on pc vr. I would appreciate any help
AThat happens when oculus steam and unity aren't loaded in the right order or inside unity when its in error report mode.
Not a dev so don't have deeper insights than that.
Might help if you mentioned the headset you're using and any other relevant info you can think of that might be useful in troubleshooting/replicating.

I’m sorry I should have included this to start with. I’m on windows 10 with a valve index,@UNGOVERNABLE - AncientWorlds might be on to something. When you launch Open Brush - have you already started SteamVR? Can you see the home or the blue grid plane in the headset?
This is clutching at straws a bit as I've not come across this before as far as I can remember. Anything else unusual about your setup that might give us a clue?
UIm on the most recent version of both open brush and steamvr, everything else works without a problem. I've tried both launching open brush first and opening it while in steamvr. I've validated files, reinstalled, deleted all the files and then validated again. Nothing seems to be working
AI don't suppose you've got access to a different PC you could test on? Although my hunch is that would probably just work
