Make grub show up to rollback

Yesterday I did a system update and since then Bazzite only boots to the login screen. But after login KDE has a crash loop. I checked the documentation on how to roll back: https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/Updates_Rollbacks_and_Rebasing/rolling_back_system_updates/ This sends me to the grub menu or the console, but I cannot reach both. How can I make grub appear without access to the console?...

Solution:

Actually, google did not help. Reddit did not hep. Le Chat did. Pressing ESC while booting did help.

Ujust install-coolercontrol not working

I have tried to install coolercontrol via the ujust command in the title, and while it says it has successfully done so, I cannot find any way to launch the application, and coolercontrold is not showing up in systemctl. If I run rpm-ostree status, both coolercontrol and liquidctl show up as layered packages. There was an earlier topic on this, but the solution provided has not worked for me, which was to uninstall and reinstalling....

Solution:

This has now been resolved; my system updated today, and cooler control now launches properly. I did try manually updating, so it must be something new on the stable branch that fixed this for me.

Bazzite's installer won't allow to set mounting points

Hi! I.m struggling with this installation in an old PC Gamer with a RAID of two SSD. I have readed a bit and have copied the setup of disk and partitions from another installation attempt to this one: - Small FAT32 partition, for bios boot, I think; - 1 GiB ext4 partition for /boot, Bazzite boot; - 444 GiB BTRFS for root of Bazzite that is a RAID of /dev/sda3 and /dev/sdb3 did by mdadm, mounted and formatted by Bazzite's command line. I also rebooted after and the result is the same....

HHD missing on non-deck version Flow z13

Earlier I installed the deck version of bazzite on my flow z13, and when I press the asus button it opens hhd where I can change battery cap, fan speeds, etc. Although I installed the non deck version, and I can't install hhd using ujust, or enable it via systemctl. Is there a way to get it working?

rEFInd on Bazzite HTPC

Greetings all! I am trying to get rEFInd to to work with my dual windows + Bazzite HTPC. Bazzite and windows are each installed on different nvme drives. I made sure only one drive was connected when installing each OS. I can boot in each OS but only choosing the right drive in the bios settings. Grub does not see Windows. I did install rEFInd through Bazzite following different methods but it did not seem to work. I have then installed rEFInd on the windows EFI partition and it now works...

Black Screen on boot after install

I've installed Bazzite on an old "gaming" PC I had lying around. I used the bazzite-deck-nvidia iso as I intend to use it as a PC console. I installed just fine, rebooted the system, it booted to MOK screen, I skipped that (secure boot is disabled), it took me to the Dell splash screen with Bazzite at the bottom, said "preparing system" for an eternity, then a black screen with nothing at all. No login, no keybinds work, no terminal, no nothing. Pressing the power button on the computer simply disconnects the display. Every "solution" online involves doing things that are physically impossible with nothing but a black screen. Hardware Info CPU: i3-9100F GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650...

Question about setting up dual boot on a shared drive

The information on the bazzite docs seems to contradict one another, with the general installation guide strongly recommending manual partitioning, and the dual boot setup guide suggesting automatic partitioning. Which method should I use? For context, this is the Ayaneo Flip 1DS (Ryzen AI variant) with Windows 11 already installed....

Solution:

Without looking more at your setup, I would recommend doing manual partitioning. But this also might be my bias showing where I have a couple cases where letting an install do it's automatic thing has corrupted the OS I was trying to install next too....

Weird choppyness and GPU spikes

After waking my PC up from sleep this morning it has been acting weird. Everything suddenly becomes slow and choppy to the point that it at times becomes unusable, unable to watch watch YouTube videos (dropping frames and clipping audio, even at 480p) when a browser is the only thing that's open. Moving the mouse around is also visibly choppy, and opening the terminal takes over 5 seconds. In system monitor I'm seeing some really weird spikes on GPU usage, but the choppyness persists even when GPU usage is low and not spiking ...

UI Crashes, Audio keeps failing.

So randomly Bazzite will have a UI crash, any browser will stay open, but the desktop will be black and the UI bar vanishes. It's a no warning type of thing, but only happens if I am doing something with sound. Open browser, open Discord, no issues. Go to Youtube to watch One Topic or the click and UI fails. Also Audio fails it's like its trying to switch devices, I had a USB Pebble and USB head phones attached, I unplugged one to see if it helped. It didn't. ...

Running Moonlight on Bazzite

I installed KDE Desktop Bazzite for RTX gpus on latest stable and I wajt to use mopnlight to stream games fron my main PC as this is meant to be a home theater pc. Moonlight works fine from my ROG Ally running windows, but immediatly becomes unresponsive when I use it from my Bazzite home theater PC. I couldnt fine any resukts when googling around. For reference I installed Moonlight through flatpack.

How to Share my external HDD over networks, In windows I used the smb share

In Bazzite I am able to access my smb shares, but I am not able to create smb share on Bazzite. Goal: Need to host some of my external HDD to stream my linux iso to Infuse clinet. If this is not possible is anyone using Jelly-fin or Plex server and share the experience and how to setup. Thanks in advance fellas....

8bitDo SN30 needs to be removed entirely from Bluetooth in order to connect properly again

Not sure why this is. Tried to update the firmware but this just wouldnt work for me in Bazzite no matter how many ways I tried to run it.

Help using Nexus Mods App on Linux (Bazzite)

I am a new Linux user but I am accustomed to modding on Windows using Vortex. I am having some difficulty using the Nexus Mods App which supports modding on Linux. The issue is that my mods simply are not loading for whatever reason. I've only downloaded 1 mod with the manager, Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) for Baldur's Gate 3, and its prerequisite: Norbyte's Script Extender. I'm trying to get a spoofed/stealth kvm that works on Bazzite. This is a nontrivial issue, since the script that I am trying to use located here modifies a lot of system-wide settings and kernel parameters and also uses a custom build of QEMU. I was wondering whether it's possible for me to run this script on a fresh Bazzite system without having to remake the entire Bazzite image

Firefox won't open

New Linux user here, installed Bazzite on my laptop yesterday to free myself from Windows 11. It's pretty great but Firefox and Librewolf wont run. Firefox gives me a crash report while Librewolf just loads for a moment and then doesn't open. Solutions I've tried: - uninstalling/reinstalling the Firefox flatpak - disabling Wayland windowing system/enabling fallback to X11 windowing system...
