Possibility to script/pre-configure Proton-GE on fresh installation ?

Hi there, on fresh Heroic installation (Linux Ubuntu), Wine is the default version available. Is it possible to pre-configure or script the installation of Proton-GE as default Wine version ? I see config.json can be configured with wineVersion but how should I go with Proton-GE install to reproduce what Heroic does in the UI ? For context: I'm the creator of Cloudy Pad, a FOSS tool to deploy Cloud gaming instances. I'm trying to integrate Heroic. My goal is to automate setup of Heroic so that users won't have too much "technical" tasks to perform. ...

Icewind Dale 2 not detecting keyboard

Hello! Pretty much as the title states. The game otherwise seems to work correctly. I've tried various different proton/wine prefixes, even different keyboards, but no dice. Thank you!

Solution:

SOLVED (kinda): Using ProtonPlus, I added the Prefix Wine-7.21-amd64. This worked where even Proton 7.21 did not. Performance isn't perfect but it works.

Chivalry 1 FPS

Hello, after every update of the nvidia-drivers the game has < 1 FPS. In the past an update of the flatpaks or a reinstall of the game managed to fix the issue. But now nothing seems to fix the issue. Problem: Games run on under 1 FPS after GPU driver update https://0x0.st/8Rpu.log...

So after installting via AUX and installing the game und proton, the game runs normaly (https://0x0.st/8Rpx.log)

What folders should be persisted when running Heroic in VM or container?

Hello, I'm running Heroic in a specific setup: a Linux (Ubuntu 24) VM / container which may not be persist. only certain volumes (directories) can be persisted. I have a base image with Heroic already installed, I only need to persist data created at runtime (like game data). I did not find specific documentation, but so far I observed these paths were used: - $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/heroic (eg. /home/ubuntu/.config/heroic)...

pretty much what you described, you may also want to add $XDG_DATA_HOME/umu to persist runtimes downloaded by UMU...

Battle.net not launching after installing

I installed Battle.net using Proton latest version, and with the executable from Blizzard's website. Set the executable to be "Battle.net Launcher.exe" in my install directory And when I'm trying to start BNet, it shows "Launching" for a short while", then "Playing", but nothing happens anywhere on my computer. Train Sim World 2 not starting

Hello, I'm trying to start Train Sim World 2 from Epic using Heroic flatpak. I have enabled verbose logs (see screenshot) but even after clicking "Play now (with logs)" there is no logfile, see another screenshot. I have no clue where to go from here. Same result using GE-Proton10-10 or 10-8....

doesn't matter which option of login in heroic, it wont let me login, meanwhile thru browser i can login without problem, and yes https://legendary.gl/epiclogin works. My problem is i can't login in epic

GTA V ENCHANCED NOT WORKING AFTER SYSTEM UPDATE

i had no problems running gta yesterday, but once i done a system update gta would completely refuse to launch. i tried different proton versions, different nvidia driver versions, i uninstalled the game twice, added the game to steam as a non-steam game, and tried different config settings like steamdeck=1 . but nothing works i do not know what do to whatever i do no matter what i try it always leads to these two errors even though i have a RTX card and it was running fine before. can anyone please help me here im crashing out😭 ...

yea it was flatpak, i tried updating flatpak it didnt work so i just got the heroic-games-launcher-bin package from the aur and got rid of flatpak

Battle Brothers wont launch

I tried to install and launch the game, but it will not start. No Blackscreen or window even appears when pressing play, it stays on "playing" for a few seconds and then closes. So far I have tried: - changing Wine Version to an older one (GE-Proton9-27) - disabling UMU Nothing helped....

Solution:

I did some trial and error and unticking / disabling "Auto Install/Update DXVK-NVAPI on Prefix" did the job for me. Battle Brothers Settings -> Wine -> untick ""Auto Install/Update DXVK-NVAPI on Prefix"...
