pfx file is missing from the game folder

Trying to launch cyberpunk, logs says the pfx is missing and it is. I downloaded cyberpunk before I switched to pop, would I have to get the pfx from the windows partition?

Close program with bash

Is there some way to close a program with bash? Similar to heroic://launch/... I'm using a script to start Vortex Mod Manager as for some reason it can't deploy mods - so I wrote a script to do it instead. But I can only ever drop mods into Vortex to import them once. So when I download more mods I have to restart Vortex to be able to import them (I don't want to import them one by one using the Wine file browser). That's why I wanted to use e.g. xdg-open heroic:://stop/... to stop Vortex and restart it when I type "s" into the console. I wasn't able to get the PID of Vortex itself so killing it that way didn't work either. Now I could just make a separate script to deploy the mods (as linking the files takes some time) that I run manually. But why settle for a suboptimal solution when I could instead waste hours trying to make it into one script and save minutes over the life time I'm using it?...

Cannot define environment variable with '=' in the VALUE

I need to define an environment variable for Cyberpunk 2077 that includes an '=' character in the VALUE. However, Heroic Launcher (2.18.0) is showing me an error saying that variable NAMES can't contain a '=' character. See attached screenshot.

How to set it to ONLY update when I want it, no background stuff incl gogdl?

I love Heroic, I use both Heroic and Lutris for gaming on Linux and for GOG. But just recently Heroic has started to use multiple instances of Heroic, usually 8 sometimes more, the same tactic Steam used for their launcher which in the end had me deleting my account, one of the reasons being that their launcher just had so much unecesary stuff clogging ur resourcess. There was not always this many instances running in HC! Now recently also the gogdl is running. I get its needed to update fo ur gog account wich Im using. But I would like the OPTION to not have this running as soon as I start a GOG game, and ONLY update this WHEN I tell it to. Why does it constantly run, there is no need for this?...

The End Is Nigh´s Lighting Shaders are not working

Sadly the levels are too dark because the lighting does not work in Proton via Heroic or Steam. It is the epic games store version. I tried running it through steam and using different proton version, I tried diabling DXVK and running it through wine. The first pic is how it looks on my linux machine and the second is how it should look. All help or advice is appreciated....

Steam Game Download gets stuck

Hi, I am on MacOs 15.5 and downloaded Heroic yesterday. The first game I downloaded worked but now the second game (Stronghold Crusader Definite Edition) always gets stuck at 49%. Restarting does not work. As far as I have read this is a common issue but is there a way to fix this? Cheers...

First time Linux-gaming, trying to play an installed game

Hey all, I've recently installed CachyOS and I linked my Epic Games account to Heroic. However, since it's my first time, after installing a game not native to Linux (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl - Enhanced Edition) and trying to play it - it does not start. How do you configure Windows games for Linux in Heroic? I've attached the logs from the game if that helps. Thanks in advance!...

Can't get Starfleet Command 3 from GOG to run

I recently picked up Star Trek: Starfleet Command 3 from GOG on sale. I'm trying to run it (version 1.01.534 RDNA fix) on my Kubuntu 25.04 system via Heroic (v2.17.2), but I can't get it to work. If I use Proton-GE-latest (or any version numbered 8 or higher, apparently), it crashes after the intro videos, apparently when loading the main menu: error is "Vide...rror: Unable to get backbuffer desc". After I close that error, I get a "Debug Window" with the text "Line: 538, Module: C:\Projects\Taldren\Projects\SFCTNG\Source\app\shellApp.cpp" and then "fTest3D.mInit() failed". I then have to force-stop the game. See attachment 1 for error log. If I try with Proton-GE-7.48 (or any 6.x or 7.x version), it loads into the main menu, but then crashes when you try to start a mission (or tutorial) with "E...r: Unable to save model cache", followed by an abnormal program termination window. (If I use an even older version of Proton, it CTDs with no error after the intro videos; didn't bother saving a log for that.) The system is a Ryzen 5 5600 with 128GB RAM (I got silly when DDR4 was really cheap) and an AMD Radeon RX6650 XT. ...

using Steam gamepad templates with games added from heroic

I would like to use Steam's gamepad templates for heroic games and be able to use gyro motion. So far the only thing that worked is using the desktop configuration, cuz Steam won't recognize games that aren't installed from it, problem with that is I lose gyro aim if I alt tab, and forced to restart the system if I wanna use it again....

How do I transfer the data from the pacman heroic install to the flatpak one?

the pacman install stores the settings in ~/.config/heroic, the flatpak version store its settings in ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic, you can probably copy the contents and most things will work

Can't use the ambient variable WINEDLLOVERRIDES

In order for the videos to work on Resident Evil from GOG it is necessary to use the ambient variable "WINEDLLOVERRIDES=mciavi32=n,b". I already successfully used it on Heroic on previous versions, but the app is not letting me use it anymore (as shown on the print). This same variable works fine on Lutris and the game is running well. Did I do something wrong or is it an issue with Heroic? I'm on Heroic 2.18.0. Thanks in advance!
