JoinHow to get a PS5 controller working with games that only support XBOX controllers
I own a PS5 controller, it works fine with most of my games. However, there are some older titles released 12+ years ago, which don't seem to support PS controllers, only XBOX ones. For example, Uncharted 4 works fine, but I have just installed Batman Arkham Origins and the controller does essentially nothing. Same with LEGO Lord of the Rings, for instance.
Any idea how to get these games to accept my controller?...
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't run
When launched a window shows up and it closes down even faster.
I don't even have any logs to share, I clicked on the "Report a problem ..." but it just says no logs.
I am using "proton-cachyos", I also tried running it with "GE-proton-latest" and "GE-Proton10-15", I tried setting env vars, but nothing is working. I am at a complete loss....
GOG connection issue
Hello, i just installed Linux Mint and Heroic Launcher.
When I want to connect on Gog, the "loading" is spinning for several minutes then come back to connection screen like nothing happened. When I copy/past the URL in my browser, nothing happen, empty page.
When I connect to Gog on their website, no problem.
I attached the main log to this post. But i definitly can't understand what it means😅 Would love some help....
controller not working
Controller is detected on mac but the games are not working with controller. i have xbox wired controller so please let me know how to fix it
Fortnite keeps crashing
as the title says when i open up fortnite and try to gte a game it crashes. also when i load the game i cant see skins.
Controller is not working in the game
This morning, it was working, Steam Deck controls were working well with the game, the launcher even detects it. Later, I had to install an app that requires me to update the flatpak. Now, all of a sudden, the Steam Deck controller and bluetooth controllers aren't responding in the game even though it is in the launcher. Help.
No Music in The Secret of Monkey Islandâ„¢: Special Edition
I have purchased the game through GOG and am running it from the Heroic Launcher on macOS 15.7.1. The game launches without issue and I can begin a new save file, however I am unable to hear any of the music. Sound effects and voices play just fine. I have confirmed that the music is enabled in the game settings.
Resident Evil 0 (GOG) frequent Crashes
Keep in mind I'm still very new to linux so if I get something obvious wrong I apologize in advance
As the title suggests I have been having trouble with crashes while playing RE0. It seems that any time I enter an area it's a toss up whether or not the game will freeze up and I'll have to force stop it. I've included the log from one time this happened, but it has happened every time I've booted it up. Any help would be appreciated....
Unhandled Exception
I am modding Cyberpunk 2077 from GOG via Heroic. I am new to Linux. I am getting some weird error that I can not find a solution for as every guide I have found says I am doing everything right. Error is the attached photo.
The only environement variables I have set: WINDLLOVERRIDES (equal sign is here when entering but not once applied) winmm,version=n,b
I am confused because I have watched several guides in which they add these variables and have no issues. Any help is greatly appreciated...
Unable to start Watch Dogs 1
Whenever I try to launch Watch Dogs 1 from HGL, I am redirected to the Ubisoft Connect home page, and even when I try to launch the game from there, I get the same result. I have also tried different versions of Proton and different HGL distributions (such as flatpack, pacman, and HGL-bin from the yay helper).

Downloading Fortinite from Heroic Launcher install a corrupted version
As the title said, downloading Fortnite from Heroic install a copy that whatever playlist you start the game crash after finding a game. Tried multiple time uninstalling and reinstalling even on different computer.
The only way to play is downloading from Epic Game Store...
The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time
When running the game using "Wine Default - wine - 10.17" from wine-staging on Arch Linux, sound from the intro videos and the main menu can be heard, but the screen stays black. Log file:

When running the game with "Proton - GE-Proton-latest" (released 10/29) the main menu will be visible, but the intro video won't play and the game will not start since it thinks that the game CD is not available:

Hitman Blood Money
Hi folks! I recently bought Hitman Blood Money from the GOG sale, and have been trying to run it on my Steam Deck OLED. However, every time I try to run the game, it launches into a black screen. There is also a launch option to run the config tool, but this just crashes before anything appears on screen. All my games fail to launch the first time
Most of the games I installed on my steam deck using heroic work eventually, but all of them fail to launch the first time I try. The first run install script runs and installs runtimes etc, but then I get half a dozen empty dialogue boxes saying just "file not found". Does this sound familiar and have I broken something?
XCOM 2 (GOG) - Cannot uninstall
When trying to uninstall XCOM 2 (GOG version) in Heroic 2.18.1, I get an error pop-up from wine saying that "unins000.msg is missing" and the uninstall process just hangs.
Verify&Repair does not change anything. When copying the unins000.msg file from another game (apparently they are always the same), I get an error "unins000.dat is missing", but that one seems to be game-specific.
Anyone else come across this? How do I get the required files back?...
Asphalt 8 on Ubuntu 25.10 (Heroic)
I tried launching Asphalt 8 via Heroic on Mint, Arch, and Ubuntu, but the graphics were loading incorrectly on all of them, and even if the game did launch, I couldn't enjoy it.
My system: RX 550 4GB, Intel i5-3570, 8GB DDR3 RAM...
Solution:
I've made a PR to add a protonfix for this game now: https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-protonfixes/pull/427
This means that with the next version of GE-Proton (and other Proton versions implementing protonfixes), this issue will be automatically resolved
If you find this thread on Answer Overflow in the future because you're experiencing an issue with this game, please join the Discord server & create a thread. The fix for your issue will likely be different than the one proposed here...
Is there a way to update Fortnite through EGL importing the game from Heroic?
As the title says, I want to know If I can update the game through Epic without having to install it again there. If someone knows how to import please tell me, thanks!
