First time order questions for Lily58

Hey, this is my first time looking into building a lily58 and was hoping to do the least amount of soldering as I've never tried before. There's a few questions I'm hoping to understand on my build 1. if I'm building only off typeractive with no external parts/company parts, are the batteries/nice!nano needed? If so, can I use it in wired mode only as I prefer wired keyboards 2. Does the no-solder hotswap option for the headers mean that I don't need to solder at all for this board? I'd be willing to give soldering a try with the Ez Solder Hotswap option but just looking to confirm if this board requires anymore soldering beyond the header 3. I'm assuming yes but just to confirm - is this board hotswappable?...

One position not registering key presses.

I went through the tutorial and got the keyboard up and running. I cannot get the standard "R" key(qwerty layout) to work. I have taken the board apart a few times, and swapped switches around. The "R" still does not respond to any input. Every other key is registering except for it.

nanos with No-solder headers falling out and DOA nice!views

Hi all. I have ordered and built the wireless corne with the no-solder headers and i currently have a problem where the mcu (along with the niceview) pops out when plugging out the usb c cable. The corne wireless itelfs is exceptional, except for the bluetooth range (and that one niceview was dead on arrival and the other has a fat line that cover a third of the screen.). Its kind of an inconvenience since i have to travel alot and the current alternative is to just keep off the mcu cover so that i can hold it down when unplugging. Does anyone have a recommendation on how i could fixate them without soldering? I'm totally fine if its a hacky solution like holding them down with rubber band or something. I have four other cornes (all wired) and am exremely happy with them all. Apart from the niceviews and the cumbersome mcu's that fall out im very happy! Regarding the DOA and semi-working niceviews, i think i cant recommend them with the no solder headers since they keep falling off and are generally not secured enough to carry them around. I have contacted support to maybe get replacement niceviews but i'm thinking about asking for a refund instead since both niceviews are currently useless. Or at least get only one and keep in the peripheral side to see the battery while checking the other side's battery from my OS. Thanks in advance to anyone that can recommend something!...

Replacing no solder headers with something that works

Hey! I was unfortunate enough to be talked into getting the no-solder headers when I ordered my Corne, and they've given me no end of trouble. They just constantly flake out, and I'm constantly having to try and squeeze the board back onto the headers through the cover, which is now coming loose as a result (requiring me to completely disassemble the keyboard in order to tighten the screws on the other side of the PCB). It's frankly a terrible experience, and I'm pretty disappointed that the Typeractive guys have decided to make that available as an option without at least emphatically warning customers first. I decided to solder the boards in, but I've discovered that the headers provided are just the basic ones and the Typeractive website says they're not recommended and you should use a different kind ("We highly recommend using one of the other hotswap methods") — which seems extraordinary to me; why provide something that you don't recommend, without offering another viable option? So my question is, what do I do now? Where do I get the correct headers so I can actually solder this on? Do I have to order them from Typeractive, or is there a standard part that I can get more locally? ...

presoldered headers

Hi ! I'm completely new to split keyboards and my soldering skills are... baasically non-existant. I was wondering if there was a pre-soldered lily58 variant with the headers and especially the LED soldered (I'm deeply afraid of surface mounted components). Thanks a lot for your help and may I showcase my new keyboard soon !...

Corne nn!v2 connection issues

Heya - I just re-flashed my nice nano v2 controllers on my corne keyboard after about 2 years of no issues, but now I'm getting a "cannot connect to device" when trying to pair to Windows 10. I did these steps: 1) cleared all the BTE profiles 2) made sure the keyboard is in BTE mode (instead of USB)...

Battery - Basic Questions

I purchased the small batteries that fit under a N!N MCU. After ~3 days, the battery on the keeb is reporting ~10%. Please let me know: What percent do the batteries ship out at? How long should I charge each half in a charging session? (Like maybe 30 min as a starting point?) What's the expected standard usage per charge for a simple wireless keyboard (I know full well that mileage will vary greatly here)? Is there a good way to see the battery percentage per half on a computer?...

A few keys are enteriing multiple letters for a single key press.

I'm not backspacing anything iini this message to hopefully show what is happening. II've used this corne for over a year without issues, so I'm hping there's just a simple fiix. It is maiinly the letter i but occassionally a few other letters wiill do the same, or wiiill enter out of sequence. Is thhere a good troubleshooting techniique? III've fallen in love with my Corne and would hate to go back to a standard layout....

Fixing the power switch circuit after pad has been lifted

Hi, the power switch on my Corne broke and I ordered a replacement. However, when desoldering the old power switch, it looks like the pad beneath the switch was lifted and broke off. I still have the new power switch, but it won’t work without the pad obviously. Is there any way to get this working again with a switch? I know the alternative is to connect the battery terminals directly to the nice! Nano board terminals, but I’d prefer to keep a switch. Please see photo....

Nice!Nano Not going into bootloader (not able to see device in the computer)

Hello, I recently purchased a Lily58 wireless with a nice!nano. However, the nano I recieved seems to be faulty. Whenever I plug it in the nano flashes however the computer doesn't recognize it as a device. The right side nice!nano functions as intended and works with my computer. How can I fix this or would I be able to get a replacement? Thanks...

nice!view socket came filled with solder in the PCB.

Hi everyone, I'm new to soldering and split keyboards to please bare with me. I recently started building my low profile corne and noticed on my right pcb that the nice!view socket was filled in with solder. I hadn't thought much of it because I wasn't familiar with the steps to install the the nice!view. I had followed the build guide off the website and completed soldering the nice!nano and the hotswap sockets. When I reached the step to install the nice!view and saw that I was supposed to place the socket on the board, I realized that this would be a problem since the solder is blocking the input for the socket (See photos). Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the solder so I can insert the nice!view socket? This is my first time soldering so I'm not to sure this is even something that can be removed. Any help is appreciated....

Soldering battery on nice nano lily58

Hi, I'm new to soldering, I don't think I have soldered the battery correctly to the nice nano but could use a confirmation please. Currently the board doesn't work wirelessly at all. I have to use a TRRS cable and then connect the keyboard via USB to my computer

Ordered wrong pcb

Hello everyone, I just ordered a Mx PCB plate instead of a choc one. I was stressed because I just ruined the other board I got with the full kit because I'm not experienced with soldering and I didn't check thoroughly the order I placed. Is there a way to change the order? I already wrote an email to hello@typeractive.xyz...

Faulty view!nano

Got my keyboard and got everything set up and working well. Put the view!nano in and it would not turn on and I started to smell a burnt smell. The issue was not the board or the socket since I got two so I tested with other nice!view and things worked well on both boards. Over all I think the nice!view that I got was faulty. I can see on the ribbon cable on the back side where there is some discoloration of the pins coming out of the ribbon cable. I think this is the source of the burning smell...

Weird nice!nano issue

Out of nowhere, my right side corne split stopped working. While debugging the issue, I found out that the issue seems to be the nice!nano since when I swapped the nice!nanos between the splits, the left side stopped working. What is very strange, is that if I flash the left side uf2 file on both splits, both are working. I thought the issue was in my build files — even though both worked until today with the same build files — so I tried tried using an older version, but same issue. The one nice!nano where I flash the right side uf2 file, doesn’t work. @TyperAI any ideas why?...

Left half jumbled nice!view output

Hi, I just finished building my keyboard and the right side works as expected, showing a display of the art, battery and connection. The left half works when it comes to typing, however, it doesn't display anything (other than some random pixels). When I swap the nice!views between the halves, the right half always shows the data no matter which nice!view is plugged in. So the nice!views aren't at fault. Could you help me out please?...
