404 - not found on web app
Hey folks, I’m self hosting Ente on my home server and everything’s going great (things work as it should, I was able to increase the storage limit from 10gb, etc).
The ONLY thing I cannot figure out is why my main web app keeps showing 404 - Not found error. /login and /gallery all work fine. I can log in and do all the things I need to. It’s just the index that’s showing an error. It wasn’t always like this and I must have tweaked something to break it. Any ideas?...
10 GB Limit?
hey all! i am self hosting photos and noticed there is a 10 GB limit, even though i am self hosting. is this correct? i have far more HDD space than 10GB and was hoping to upload more....
Easy to move from Ente cloud to self-host?
If I signup for Ente cloud, and then later decide to self-host, is it easy to move everything to my own server? Will anything get lost in the transfer, like for example anything related to machine learning?

Hey there I was wondering wether it is possible and if anyone has achieved setting up ente behind traefik on a single domain (ex.: ente.domain.com)?

As the subject says, uploading any new asset always fails unless im on the local network of the Ente install.
Viewing / Downloading images works on any network. I think it might have something to do with the minio config, but not sure. Any pointers?...
"Clean up" deleted items?
Is there any way to make Ente perform a cleanup on items that have been deleted? Items emptied from the Trash remain in S3 storage more than 30 days after they've been emptied out of the trash. Thanks!
Ente photos 'phoning home'
I have a small self hosted instance with a few users (family members).
Recently a few of my family members got marketing emails from Ente. As far as I know, they've only signed up to my self-hosted instance. Does ente photos transmit email addresses back to a server or anything for marketing/news purposes?
Thought I'd ask as curious - but I'm assuming not, and that at some point they signed up to an account on the official instance by mistake......
Cloudflare tunnels for reverse proxy?
Can I switch out caddy (https://ente.io/help/self-hosting/administration/reverse-proxy) with cloudflare tunnels, using the web UI on cloudflare? (I have tried multiple times, but failed each time). Just wondering if there might be some type of problem with it (like the max upload limit on cloudflare tunnels), or if I just have messed up the config.

Self-hosting documentation: Object storage
I wonder about a thing in the documentation. In Ente Help > Self-hosting > Installation > Post-installation steps > Step 4 it says "you can use your IP address for accessing the application in your local network, though this poses challenges with respect to object storage." but doesn't explain why that would be challenging, or how it affects storage. Can anyone explain what it is supposed to mean? I thought changing local storage is just a matter of editing the minio: volumes: line in compose....

Has anyone here successfully set this up on a UGreen NAS, using Docker? I'm far from an expert and haven't managed to adapt the instructions to get it to work.
Disable shared album discount code?
As the title says, is there a way to disable the discount banner at the bottom of any shared album? It’s misleading for a couple reasons:
1. Most people don’t know what self-hosting is. This message is misleading, as it implies that I’m a member of the hosted service, and that the person viewing my album should sign up to more easily share photos with me. I don’t want to have to explain this to everyone I’m sharing photos with.
2. I’m guessing these codes don’t work because they’re generated by my server. This is a poor user experience when they go to sign up....

I have a quick question: what happens if, for example, I back up the encrypted photos from my instance to another device and then want to restore my photos to Ente Photos (still on my instance)? How does my instance decrypt the backup? How does it work?

Is Ente Photos self-hostable? Does it work well? I have several Google Photos albums with friends and we are looking for an alternative so we don't have to pay Google. I looked at Immich, but I can't see myself deploying Immich and integrating my friends into it when it's not E2EE and I would have access to their photos and videos. I consider photos to be very private....

Hello I need help to selfhost ente.
I already have a serlfhosted version of ente, for this I follow jim's garage video on youtube.
But now I wanted to set up a second instance for my parent (I don't want to just create a user on my instance) I really want to make it running on a second virtual machine.

how can i use the output of the ente export cli to restore ente to the backed up state?
i tried just uploading the folder, which gets the images, but skips the json files which would need to get added to the database.
backing up user information as well would be useful, but it's not currently clear how to make use of the
ente export output....
