I want to change my server os and start clean

I am using immich for a year now for my photos and videos backup, now I want to export all of them in a backup file for starting new. How can I do so without losing anything from all the users.

Is it possible to use both external and internal libraries?

Hello everyone I have just set up immich on my server again (did a rebuild and reinstall of truenas). I have a question about libraries. I have about half a TB of photos and videos. Alot of the content is stuff ive taken myself (family photos, memories, photos of bands). I do occasionally import these into process software like lightroom. Id like to be able to have all my RAW photos as an external library and all my memes and things like that internal. Is this possible, and if so, whats the best way to approach it....

External library with SMB is not being read

immich-server container doesn't start after update to v1.132.3

Submaps?!

Hi, i´d like to organise my pictures by creating submaps. I don´t think this is possible at the moment. Is this something more people would like and/or will it be possible in future updates? The ability to work with tags / categories like in wordpress could also be helpful perhaps. I´d like to separate work and private pics and then organise from there, hence my question....

Immich not reading DB_URL env variable passed using docker compose

I am trying to setup immich inside a docker network, as i already have another instance of postgres and redis running, and I don't want to share them. So immich will have it's own database and redis instance. I am not using machine learning features. I tried setting up DB_URL in immich server, but it is somehow getting ignored and default user of postgres is being used. I have checked docker inspect shows correct structure for DB_URL. everything doubled!

So I have imported around 400GB of photos from Google Takeout using immich-go into my Immich. They were up to 29.3.2025. All looks fine and I was doing some more testing. Yesterday I started backup of my phone photos in the Immich mobile app. Today I noticed the upload folder is around 80GB bigger! I wonder why such a big increase? The photos and videos I created since march are only about 9,5GB total! Unfortunately my suspicion was right and I see that everything is now doubled! Photos from immich-go import are alongside backup which was done via immich mobile app and they just differ by size (because I have google photos set to save quota mode of course)! Why does this happen and why didn't backup process just replace the same photos with the bigger files for example? That would make sense! It's really stupid to simply leave everthing doubled. Is this normal and immich-go is just incompatible with Immich? What can I do?...

System crashed and corrupted multiple files

Hello all, so I made an upload last week and it somehow crashed immich_server (even brought down my entire docker daemon, which is exceedingly strange). After restarting everything, quite a few images were corrupted, and all the new uploads ever since also becomes corrupted. I've tried regenerating thumbnails, re-pulling and redeploying, but nothing works. I am planning on re-creating everything from scratch, however, I am hoping to find a solution to this, in case it happens again in the future. ...

iPad tries to reupload all photos to Immich

I’ve set up Immich using Docker and successfully backed up all 22,000 photos from my iPhone. Everything works great. Now I installed the Immich app on my iPad (same account) and enabled backup since I sometimes take photos or screenshots on that device too. However, as soon as I enable backup on the iPad, Immich shows that 22k files are ready to be uploaded again. That’s not what I want — I don’t want duplicates or the entire iCloud photo library to be reuploaded from the iPad. I only want new photos taken on that device to be backed up....

Immich_server keeps restarting
