Hey the Ka-50 stick seems really far forward in the Sim pit compared to the location in VR

Nje, not really, I kinda thought that it simulated the inertia/friction etc of a real cyclic (and the assorted bits and bobs it is connected to) i.e. you can't whip a real cyclic back and forth so quickly and that DCS simulates that. Odd though that the behaviour changes with trimmer mode.

I think that if they want to add some kind of damper they should do it internally in the apache. But I dont think this is that, it just doesnt make sence to limit the input speed for ffb sticks and no spring ones but then leave center spring joysticks perfectly responsive

Just wanted to let ppl know that my first experiences using the RHINO base has been absolute positive! From my first impressions of the base itself, then the ease of initial set up, plus walmis has been active along with other discord members in helping answer questions in the support channel. I have a Monstertech aluminum profile-based simpit, and am trying to figure out how I will mount a Rhino on it. I take it that it needs to be attached to something solid, like a plate on the floor, correct? (I.e. it's not heavy enough to be free-standing, correct?) This is my setup from a few months ago; my current one is a bit different (newer Virpil stick base, with a different mounting system) but this shows the interface between the base and simpit.

I prefer a side mounted one, not centered with the seat (which doesn't have a cutout).

BTW, where can I find dimensioned drawings of the Rhino?

So I’m pretty new to dcs but have been sim racing a lot so my knowledge of ffb stems from that. I have been reading up as much as I can on ffb in dcs and it’s hard to grasp the answers I’m looking for. Is ffb supported by all planes in dcs? I read somewhere on a YouTube comment that the f16 doesn’t have ffb and if this is true does the stick software simulate. I’m trying to determine if I want to go ffb center stick or get a side mounted fssb stick atm. Thanks.

the real f-16 stick senses force and only moves about 1/4 inch or so and jusy like many other modern aircraft, it's not FFB. If you fly F16 only and want a more realistic experience perhaps force sensing bases are better. That said, someone had asked Walmis(the dev) couple of days ago if it's possible to use the VPF base as a force sensing base and he said it might be possible to simulate a force sensing base in the future firmware update tho no more details

Hey m8, I'm busy atm but asap I'll get you some basic dimensions of the base if you'd like, I can't find the pdf atm that has the info. But basically yes it needs to be either floor mounted or mounted to something solid enough to take ~4kg ~9 pound that wants to throw itself around, the x & y axis throw on it is massive too! this is good cause you can use the software to make endstops so you can tweak the throw length of the x & y axis.
