I for one don't really care for FFB effects on the pedals (won't mind them ofc). Main reason I'll be getting one is the ability to quickly switch between flying rotaries and fixed wing. On FW, I do need that centering force, but on rotaries that's not needed, so instead of having to hook the spring on/off and playing with the damper, with this kit it's few mouse clicks away, same as with the Rhino

The PSU that's included with the Rhino would be too weak to handle both stick and pedals at deflection and most likely would shutdown during max load. A 350W supply would handle both no problem.

I'm essentially full of questions, but I'd like to know at least
1) where does the data come from (telemFFB?) and do we have what we need to simulate for example aerodynamic forces
2) what kind of power and endurance are expected, even though my upper body is quite impressive, my legs are far more powerful. Can the system handle for example a 109 on a long sortie?
3) which versions of MFG are supported?
4) If you hypothetically imagine someone who is essentially incapable of sentient thought and has a bunch of limp dicks for fingers, would he be able to put the thing together?

For pedals? No... The only FFB effects for pedals in DCS are the ones that have been added to TelemFFB.. and today that is limited to all of the haptic effects (rumbles) and auto-switching between sprung for FW and un-sprung for Helo

DCS only understands 2 axes for FFB.. and if you aren't running TelemFFB and you don't 'sticky' your spring on your pedals.. the aileron trim will actually trim your pedal axis too (as will the re-centering of force-trim in a helicopter)

The pedals from memory in the hind auto move based on the autopilot settings and also when you increase/decrease collective etc, but I guess the visual and dynamic effects arent translated to FFB? Seems it should be easy if its just gathering the pedals position from the sim

I think the common misconception is what is meant by "Without Springs and FFB".. some people seem to think it means "Does not have springs and has FFB".. but I think it is just poor English and actually means "Does not have springs or FFB".

That said, I can tell you that DCS does not understand what FFB pedals are. I never knew for sure if it was because we have to use the X axis for the DIY pedals or not, but I saw a recent post in the HOTAS discord from a brunner user who said the exact thing I am telling you.

ED Can't even seem to get the 'microswitch' logic to work right for the in-game auto-trimming pedals on the MI24.. It might be difficult to even do it artificially outside of DCS (in TelemFFB) unless you had some sort of foot switch that knew when your feet were on the pedals (as it is in the real helicopter).

I do notice the pedals in DCS can move by themselves, this is why I thought it was getting some information or data from what the frame was doing, but maybe no API out output for that

Yeah, there is an intermediate company (Omniva) that delivers to the FedEx hub in Kaunas, so there is a minimum of one day lag. I see your package was delivered on 31th, so right before the holiday, hence why it appears stuck.

I was being more of a smart ass than anything

The huey might be challenging since it doesn't have separate 'trim modes' for the cyclic and pedals (only 'enable rudder trimmer'), and with the trimmer mode set to work with FFB cyclic ('default') the pedals behave poorly.. when you release force trim, you get the 'double input' if you don't bring your pedals back to center.

That being said.. TelemFFB already disables spring force on the pedals when you enter a helicopter, so you don't even really need trim.. pedals will stay where you put them.

Its easy enough on the VIrpils as well.. but I'm too old and lazy to be crawling under my desk to remove springs whenever I want to switch types.. plus the dampening with the motors is %100 better than any motorcycle steering dampener

I'm thinking abut a hydraulics loss effect, too (for pedals and cyclic), that would sure make things interesting
