Steam Deck images are now using some of the peformance tweaks from this Medium article.

    - Kyber I/O scheduling from BFQ
    - Disable watchdog
    - Raise memlock limit
        - Fedora already includes the 1000hz tick for the kernel & MGLRU.
        Once Valve solves their issue with CPPC in the Steam deck’s firmware the Bazzite can also utilize amd-pstate to save on battery.

Gotcha. I asked because I installed testing outright by changing the tag in grub, but it wasn't booting. Eventually did, though, looks like it's fine.

Has anyone else had luck changing their home folder to BTRFS? I can't get into work on 39-testing.

That doesn't touch your home directory, Fedora defaults to btrfs on home. That patch's only responsibility is the MicroSD card (Making steam format them as BTRFS and mount BTRFS partitions)

What issue are you having exactly? Home folder should be BTRFS by default unless you manually partitioned, which isn't recommended

1: Performance Governor - We use powersave w/ amd-pstate which is more efficient.
2: MGLRU is enabled by Fedora, got that.
3 :Watchdog is disabled
4: Memory lock is tweaked for RPCS3
5: Kyber I/O scheduler is used
6: File access times disabled
7: THP is not used, additionally we don't use a swapfile and rely on zram with zstd
8: Kernel is using 1000hz tick

Jesus Christ! I literally changed the efibootmgr option to boot grub on next launch after changing all the EFI options to be correct. Turn off the Deck, start it and it loads Windows

You can hit 'e' when you boot the installer to edit the boot command and change the tag from :39 to :testing. That's what I did, worked great.

Also be sure to select basic graphics mode or the installer won't fit on the screen.

After everything is set up and you're in Steam Game Mode, make sure to go to main settings -> display -> and disable Unified Frame Limit Management, then open quick settings -> performance -> advanced -> reset to default, then make sure the global performance profile has refresh rate set to 90.
