PIt's not specific to virtualization. Just let's you make scripts basically. Ublue comes packaged with some just recipes. With no parameter it lists the ones available

LTo be fair I think TIm Sweeney is one of the better rich people in the tech sector, like gabe newell. But I think most people can agree that we see right through his rhetoric on this in particular. He's basically saying he has no personal interest in doing it, even though he could, as it wouldn't get him enough money for the effort.

LWhen people talk about linux support with epic games, we mean a native linux launcher with native unreal engine support, and native anti cheat
PFortnite is a cash cow and funds all the epic game store giveaways, they could afford devs

LI actually think Gabe Newell may be the one to force Tim Sweeney to do it at some point in the future, as Steam wants anti cheat to work on Steam Deck
LSo Valve may even end up paying them to do it, but it could take 5-10 years
PI kind of like heroic launcher more than epics own which is mostly a storefront. Epic launcher has a lot of weird things it's still lacking too like a real way to move games or scan a folder for them. And their game library is pretty spotty in whether any given game has cloud saves, achievements, etc. They went right in on trying to be like steam but its honestly not really at the same level yet
LEpic Games court win MAY actually incentivize them to do native linux support, Epic Games is following in the footsteps of Valve and Microsoft, and Tim is going to eventually want his own Operating System and such things
LBut that would come in 10+ years
PI don't really like the exclusivity stuff they're always doing. It's too much like the console wars. I don't want vendor lock in or walled gardens. I shouldn't be required to use any specific hardware or os or launcher for a game

LBecause of Epic Games and Valve, its actually pushing Microsoft to compete as well. They did not have to compete before because they had the walled garden of Windows OS that steam and epic games had to use to sell their products
PThey don't even have to do basically anything, it'd just work if they allowed the anti cheat to work on Linux, and it's possible for it to afaik. Even without native stuff valve has laid the groundwork for almost everything to just work
LSo we may see some new things from microsoft that we did not see before
PGame pass is a good deal and has lots of games. A shame the only way to use it in Linux is cloud play
LThey do not trust it enough to work. They feel that hackers would be able to bypass it somehow on linux and therefore they are claiming it will take millions of dollars to pay for a solution
PAnd I don't trust epic enough to give them my credit card :p
LThey could, as a workaround, give linux users their own fortnite server though with a warning about possible hacking. I have never played fortnite personally, it is not the original game it was supposed to be, but I'm glad it worked out for them because unreal engine benefitted a lot from it, and we are going to all benefit from epics court wins

Lin 5-10 years, we may even see a nintendo phone or OS, because there isnt much else nintendo can do now with its current path (if it seeks further investment)
Las for sony, I have no idea whats going on with them, they arent even doing handhelds anymore currently
