There is not, but you can always use distrobox with another distro that has a newer glibc

not a bad idea. i was interested to get to the bottom of it especially if it affects other users too, but in my experience on my mid-range desktop and lower end laptops, i never experience issues with this service. but i know you werent the only one to report it. if others have issues though, maybe ill document a way to disable the service
