Noise and very small amount of play when spring force is > 50% and I move it forward-back in large movement. I fly helos now

Lbecause I never need such movement, but I guess with warbirds and dogfighting this could occur
WAre you sure it's the grip mount that's causing this? The play is only on the Y axis?
LNo I'm not positive. Yes it's only in Y axis. What else causes these symptoms, usually?
LI think I can cut the plastic a little with a dremel and if the thread is ok, I might be able to fix it.
LI would like the new aluminium mount though. I wish I knew which one is misaligned the holes in the plastic or the holes in the shaft.

LI removed some plastic with a dremel. I can now get the pilot-facing screw in, but the forward facing doesn't want to connect. I think it's the screw thread. I tried swapping screws but that didn't help.
LI put it back together with just 3 screws. I realised the fourth screw could drop into the Rhino at any time. The noise is unchanged. It's like a thud and I feel it in my hand too. But I don't feel any play in Y-axis. Maybe I imagined the play and it was just the thump I felt?
NI fought with mine for some time trying to source some creaking/popping. I focused on the connector for a while too, but it ultimately turned out to be the pulley screws. They had loosened themselves up a bit which was allowing the Y pulley to shift ever so slightly under heavy loads. Giving them a good cinching down resolved the issue for me.

NIt does produce a different feeling type of dampening from the normal "Dampen" effect type.
@legobirds , this effect actually uses spring force to generate the dampening effect. So if you have your spring set relatively low, you won't get a lot of dampening effect out of it.

LThanks - unfortunately it's something else. I tightened them a bit but I don't know what the right moment even is. Also mine made this noise anew.

LI currently have it mounted via an extended desk clamp and it can wobble a bit, trying to figure out a more stable mounting solution right now

LButton remapping question. I got a shorter grip and extension today with fewer buttons. I want to map helicopter trim, release and override buttons (on the Effects page) to match the button numbers in my other grip. But it seems that the Effects page disregards the mapping and assigns the physical button instead. Am I missing something?
LFor example: I mapped button 7 -> 1. But when I hit the button, "7" still shows on Effects tab above

I'm happy - and surprised - to report that the thump I heard and felt no longer occurs with my new shorter grip & extension even if I turn spring force to 100%. So it seems Rhino was not to blame.TWhen using force trim in DCS, the further from center I am, the further it sets the center away from actual stick position. Then the stick jumps to the "center" In the screenshot, you can see where the stick is vs where it sets the center. It does this on game ffb or the sofware force trim overide mode.
Tsolved it. If you have any kind of curve or saturation set in DCS, when you hit trim it does this. Reset DCS axis tune to default and it stops.
SI've got a Thrustmaster grip on the rhino, as a "generic grip". The hat is not recognized by windows, but is represented as a button press. How can I map this as a "hat"?

HIf there is any play in my stick, it’s not noticeable. Not sure if the play you’re talking about is mechanical or some sort of digital play due to software or a module’s FFB implementation, but I fly the F-14 with max spring forces and I can make tiny instant corrections by barely moving my fingertips.
LYeah, you wouldn't be able to do that if there wasn't any play in the stick. I want the stick to be as immovable as possible unless trim release is pressed which is how helicopters with force trim systems work. I am just curious if being able override the spring force with not much effort even at max strength is normal or not.
FHi @walmis my VPforce Order #889 arrived but without the throw limiters to restrict the stick deflection. Were they supposed to be included or ordered separately?
FHi @walmis Looks like the throw limiters are separate items. If ordered do they come as a single angle or do they come as a set with various angles to choose from?

HI tried to setup the edge and the extra300 mods in dcs. While not having any problems with other aircraft and dcs helis the joystick does not recenter on both planes. There seems to be no spring force. Any ideas?

H@Touch_Of_Legend if I get figured it out I will will post it here. I get all telemffb effects- even the g-effects which can mimic the the spring force but it is not the same.
NThose mods don't support FFB so you'll have to set up a configurator profile with 'sticky spring' enabled to get the spring to activate.
To my knowledge, there aren't any mods that do. I believe the FFB is part of the SDK which you don't get access to unless you are a contracted developer, or, no mod developer has ever taken the trouble to do it.

HThank you, than I will try that. In the new OH-6A mod it works, but probably you or some else has set up the default profile with sticky spring. Have a nice weekend!

H@Touch_Of_Legend spring works now with the sticky spring, but rudder jumps around like crazy in both planes. It does work in all other planes... So I gave up for now.
NDo you have FFB pedals set up? What do you mean the rudder jumps around?
