Removed the bracket thing after the port was already loose.

Not 100% sure how the port has come loose, but my theory is that the USB cable probably acted as a lever.

@Dudeman @Col. Sanders - I came up with a suitable workaround I think. LMK if you want to put a test version through its paces and I can provide a test build later on today. I tested it, but the extent of my testing was joining a bunch of MP servers and just nose-diving into the ground over and over

(Note, the same workaround also stops effects playing after a crash in SP before you exit to the menu)

If you have access to a 3D printer I can send you the .stl file. It's an easy fix. Otherwise you can fill the order form for a replacement.

Hi, I think I need some help with my new diy ffb pedals in DCS.
If the pedals are plugged in when DCS starts I am loosing all spring forces on my stick! The periodic effects are still working (when running telem-ffb), but the spring forces are missing. The pedals themselves are working fine, with spring and periodic effects.
If I start DCS with the pedals unplugged the stick is back alive again and working fine. When I plug in the pedals now and do a "rescan devices" in DCS (and restart telem-ffb) both, pedals and stick are working perfectly with spring and periodic effects. But until I start DCS again.
I think this is a problem within DCS itself (and not telem-ffb or the ffb devices). Does anybody else experience this? How do you ffb pedal owners out there handle it?
Any insights welcome!

TelemFFB overrides everything on the pedals. What do you experience when you start and run DCS without TelemFFB running?

Can you post screenshots of your configurator settings and effects tabs for both your joystick and pedals?

Testet with Fw190A8 and F-18. Without TelemFFB it is the same behavior, only without the periodic effects of course. Stick goes limp without spring force. Thats why i thought it's not related to TelemFFB. Will post screenshots tomorrow.

I dont see anything abnormal.

To be clear, the normal experience when starting DCS is as follows:
- During startup, FFB device will go limp as DCS sends a "reset all effects" command when it is loading.
- In DCS menu, spring will continue to be limp
- Depending on the module
- when you get to the 'fly now' screen, the stick may remain limp or may go to center at full spring force
- after loading into the aircraft, again, it depends on the module but typically...
- Warbirds
- On the ground - Stick will be limp as no air is flowing over the control surfaces
- at speed/in the air - Spring force will tighten up as you increase speed
- FBW Jets
- spring force should be constant
- Helicopters pretty much always have spring enabled except when pressing the trim release button or in the UH-1 with the force trim switch disabled

Are you, by chance, running a local Dedicated Server instance of DCS? (There's a bug that I dont think got fixed where the server ceases control of FFB if it is started after the game instance)

Yes, what you describe is exactly what I experience when having only the stick plugged in. However when the pedals are also plugged in, the stick stays limp even in flight. No dedicated server involved. Very strange and it looks like I am the only one with this problem. I understand that DCS should be sending the stick forces to all attached devices, correct? And telemffb is disabling them for pedals and collecitve and introduces its own spring forces. But it seems that DCS isn't sending the forces to my stick when the pedals are connected. The only way to make it all work together is to start DCS with the pedals unplugged, connect them when DCS is up and do the "rescan devices" thing.
Thanks for your time already spent looking into it!
I'll do some more experimenting and look for clues and let you know if I find some more hints.

Ya, thats a weird one. You are correct. Without TelemFFB, pedals should exactly mimic what your joystick X axis does from an FFB perspective. It will get the same commands from DCS for spring force as well as (aileron\cyclic-x) trim position.

When you re-plug the joystick after DCS has started, DCS never sends the "reset all effects", so your spring remains active. I would guess though that you don't get dynamic forces in a warbird when doing it that way?

When I see weird stuff like that, I always recommend a DCS slow repair. Usually it doesn't help, but its always worth a shot :).

You can also look at the debug tab in configurator and see what is actually being set on the joystick in a given situation.. This is sitting in the menu after a game start. You can see the spring effect is stopped (grey text). You can also see the "reset" in the log, which came from DCS during startup.

Yes, this is how the loaded effects looks with unplugged pedals. When pedals are plugged in the sticks spring effect exists but stays greyed out. Didn't pay attention to the reset command, will do later.

@walmis do you feel comfortable sharing the STL file for the winwing adapter? unfortunately a badly trimmed aircraft during simulator loading managed to swing my joystick around and the poor plastic snapped in half. all of the electronics seem to be intact, though.

edit: after a surprising amount of hope offered by... superglue, sadly i realized it seems i did somehow manage to break the electronic. guess i'll have to do a new order...

You have to select T50CM2 and then it shows the brake (pinky trigger) as an Axis.

In the Rhino software you can then calibrate the Axis.

When you plug in a T50Mongoose and select “generic” it shows some erratic button presses so just select for the CM2.

Works totally fine.

Yep I have the Mongoose T50CM as well and this is the workaround.

The only actual difference was they replaced our thumb button with a Hat and they added click Hats where we have 4 ways.

So you just bind it as normal and good to go (the unused inputs don’t register).

You likely have too many usb devices. Lot of people use HIDHide to mask unneeded devices from IL2. But you can test just by disconnecting any devices you don’t use in IL2.

No, that’s completely unrelated to the joystick. IL2 doesn’t even know it’s related to the joystick. It’s just sending packets to an IP address.

I’ve never had to work through the issue myself so I can’t give you any other tips, but I’ve seen others with the same issue (can bind but doesn’t respond in flight) solve it with hidhide
