Question, is Game Mode from Steam optional feature? I am planning to install Bazzite on my new laptop in the near future, and I am not sure if Game Mode can be disabled on first boot for Bazzite

everything related to steam is inside your users home folder
to reset it without losing important stuff (proton prefixes, saves, games, etc)

Switching to 'scaled by the system' instead of letting apps scale themselves in Display Settings seems to have fixed my scaling issues in docked mode, no idea if it's going to break stuff in handheld mode though

toolbox is the simple tool, good for cli stuff.
Distrobox, is the complex tool, that can do everything though.

Actually now that I think about it - KDE isn't running in Game Mode at all, so it's scaling settings wouldn't matter, would they?

That should work. Next time you start steam it will reinstall but your games and other stuff should still be there
