Aafaik auto is recommended so it doesnt eat your ram, if you dont have any issue probably safe to leave it on auto

SHow's the user desktop environment experience on AMD gpus? I currently run Nvidia with gnome and it's making me pull my hair out lol. Wayland is just not stable at all for me while x11 is perfect but never wakes from sleep. Willing to go to team red if it means stability

DOn a Lenovo Legion 7 with both integrated and dedicated graphics, both work out of the box as far as AMD is concerned.
Did have a bug of steam games not liking a KDE update and installing MPV and Deluge.
My game weren't displaying over HDMI, showing a blank or frozen screen but, alt-tabbing they were playing in a little tinny window.
Unplugging the HDMI from the laptop, the laptop screen games were fine.
Reinstalling Bazzite fixed the issue. Don't know whether to file that under #JustPlamaThings or user error on that one.

AHDMI 2.1 does not work thanks to HDMI forum. Other than that everything just works. I seriously considered switching back to nivida a couple months ago because I could really use HDMI 2.1 but it really is just copium thinking nvidia is a good experience.
PAs a note to this, I quite literally got a HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 adapter yesterday for this reason. Works well so far, VRR also. Haven't tried HDR yet.
PObviously shouldn't have to do this, and technically it's a subpar solution (DP 1.4 is inferior to HDMI 2.1, but thankfully there is DSC, maybe there are also other weird things I haven't noticed yet)
POn another note, I managed to

~/.local/shares/fonts folder, and somehow it ended up starting with ~/~. Thought I'd just cd ~ then rm -rf ~, then the rest is history.

AI have spent at least $100 on adapters. If they work, some update comes along and breaks them. I've given up. Waiting for rx8000 or nvidia to get it together.

LIt’s wonderful. Not without its flaws but overall a huge step up from the Nvidia Wayland experience.
PHmm, strange... For me, there was an issue where moving the cursor would increase the refresh rate of the monitor (to max). But it seems to be gone now (unrelated to the adapter).

PAh, I hid the original Steam by editing the desktop file. So I guess technically it's still installed, but it's hidden.
PThe idea is to have Steam (potentially Lutris, Bottles, etc) use mesa-git.
