Considering all the cool effects that can be achieved for flight sim, I've no doubt that if the functionality was actualized, people could set up some crazy authentic effects and attain something similar if not superior to the Bash Pro
Random question. Anyone here have TPRs and Skywalkers? Thoughts? I have both and Iβm struggling on which I like better. The only big difference I see with Skywalker is removable spring. But even so I leave it off when flying fixed wing.
LOL. There is easy way to FFB the Skywalkers too. Guy did it and sent me the item to buy. It already has holes that can be used so literally just need to mount the motor.
Right. Theres a guy in #showcase who did it. Just need the pulley, belt, and motor. Just build a stand to hold the motor and the right height and wahla. The pulley connects to holes on top of our skywalker.
Congrats! I have the DIY and itβs so freaking awesome. Has completely changed my flying. In fact Iβve felt an improvement when landing on the carrier. The feedback is just incredible.
Any way to tell if our rhino base will fully support the coming virpil flanker grip? Shouldn't be that much difference - but a mini-stick is new (and nice).
Does anybody out there who flies in DCS or Il2 sturmovik uses ffb joystick in Multi Player servers? I mean can anybody be competitive against real players especially while trying to shoot at an experienced player?
Youβd have an advantage in feeling more of the plane like Sam says, but on the whole I think FFB is likely to put you at a disadvantage in competitive PvP scenarios
Spring base players can throw their stick around quickly and make full deflections, only limited by the strength of the springs they themselves have chosen
Air quake isnβt fun or immersive to me personally, but if I were to do it Iβd tune down the spring strength on my Rhino so I could actually keep up in the βstick deflection raceβ without having to worry about breaking anything
100% an advantage if you fly the plane like it's meant to. As in using proper tactics and techniques. You will be able to keep your head outside the cockpit knowing what your plane is doing by feel. I've found that any maneuver that a non ffb stick has an advantage at is typically a last ditch effort and means you already most likely lost the fight.
This, the biggest advantage ffb gives you is feeling how your plane is reacting to your flying without having to look at your instrument panel especially in scenarios where youβre at that pre stall speed. I wish there were some non diy rudder ffb options to help with feeling when your aircraft is slipping or skidding.
In my case i alrrady have bass Shakers to inform me if i am for example near stall, so if i get it right : the ideal settings for beeing competitive with ffb stick in M.P. would be to tune it so lightly as to permit fast stick movements but at the same time to feel as much as possible of the effects that ffb can offer. Is that right?
I assume that aerodynamic force feedback via the stick could be useful to develop a feel for max rate of turn airspeed (while watching opponent across the circle), despite no stall shakes in that regime. Looking forward to finding out some day.
Sure. Next to the possibility of force trim, you can have all the same effects (like guns, stall shudder, ETL) like with the stick. Makes it even more immersive if stick and pedals are rumbling the same. My setup is on a moving platform and the engine/rotor vibration e.g. is felt through the whole contraption including my seat.
Obviously that is a matter of personal taste, can't really give you advice on that. All I can say is, that pretty much everyone who built or bought a Rhino is very happy. I am.
