Tell me about it. But I managed two years ago when I bought my WinWing F16 stick and throttle and had her also gift those to me. Just glad she allows me to spend like this on my hobby, albeit in the guise of a GREAT Christmas gift. My VP saga began back in early March with my placing my Rhino order and now it will continue until Christmas. So be it.
just plop it on the kitchen table unplugged and play with it, making airplane and pew pew noises for a while.. eventaully she'll say fine! go hook it up!
I tried my rhino with the tech alpha of 2024 and it was shockingly bad. Not through any fault of the rhino, just not the best stick to test a new sim with
Works exactly like it does for 2020 while flying. As smitty said, there’s some issues (with 24) during some of the menus where simconnect is not “paused” and it seems the aircraft is flying or taxiing somewhere off screen. Not sure how we’ll address that (or if the issue will even exist at release)
Default is you need to calibrate them every time the computer starts, simply push it to full limits on all axis including brakes. You can turn it off in the software, I found out like you lol.
Due to my seat slider lever I would have to install the rhino a bit away from the seat (the stick/shaft would be like 8 cm away from where the thigh support ends)
Ideally the stick would be the same or similar height, but offset 8-10 cm towards the closer end of the box (the one with a gear)
Yes, there are various offset extensions you can find. Either purchase from your grip supplier, or else 3D print one yourself from your design or somebody else's existing design.

I won't really be able to use the quick release I found sideways, and I will need it... But it seems that the mounting holes on the rhino are spaced only 0.32 mm differently when turned sideways
As far as I know the qr4rig quick releases have a modular design - that means if you create the plate between the Rhino and the quick release plate yourself (3D printing, wood) you can freely choose placement and orientation (e.g. QRUHD Universal Quick Release Plate Kit (DIY) and using the hex pattern https://qr4rigs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24&products_id=140).
