Leather shoes that need to break in: how do I know if its a bad match and will never fit my foot?
Part of it is they don’t do half sizes so you’re in to small of a shoe breaking it in

Also if it’s a ‘heavier’/not as soft leather than break in will take more time and be more of a pain in the ass obvs

Leather will break in and stretch a bit. As long as you can wiggle your toes then width is good and if your toes aren’t touching the end/your ball is at the widest part then you’re okayish width and length wise. Instep pain at the top is common with leather shoes before being broken in. Conditioner can help speed it along but the major thing to help break it in is just time in the shoe

Square/Round-Toe Derby for Under $300?
Could also look at wedge sole stuff like thorogood, carolina, redwing (the work line for work, not the heritage besides the moc toe) if you want an actual boot. If you’re working on hard surfaces/concrete a wedge soles is a lot comfier than lug sole. All these brands do non wedge soles as well

Also monogramming/engraving can look good if the overall way it’s done is clean and properly done. It can also help add onto the story of an object if it’s a piece of jewelry. Not engraving/monogramming because resell value is a poor argument, because taken further it’s “buy whatever is in style and inoffensive because I might make more money when I sell it again”
