This might probably be the PR and other than direct access, there are not other workarounds but to wait for this to land on main

The background service is failing with the server reachability errors as well. How are you accessing the server? Is it through a VPN or tunnel? Can you try using direct IP access and check if the issue persists?

Looks like it is detecting the other albums but failing at a later point. We can probably experiment around the filters to handle this. However, the new sync already uses a different way to fetch the albums. You might have to wait for the new sync implementation to be released which might fix this.

Android app forgets backup album.
It shouldn't get deselected automatically. Certainly odd. What happens if you manually select it after? Does it stick?

The second issue is a known one and something that has to do with the caching we have in the mobile app. Can you show an example of the first one?

Immich Android App not seeing new pictures
hmm, the logs have few traces for server reachability failures, but nothing for a failure during the backup process. We did hear few reports with Pixel devices having background backup issue that got fixed after a day or two. Can you toggle the foreground and background backup off and on, then take a new picture, open the app and check if foreground backup is kicking off, or wait for few minutes and check background backup is working?

This has been an ongoing issue that we are investigating. Can you try the new setting under Advanced section of the mobile app and check if that resolves your issue? It goes by the title “Use alternative device album sync filter”

You just need to check if all of your albums are being listed and choosing them lists all of your local assets as well

Thanks for testing it, the change is merged but it probably might not help you. I am currently working on rewriting the entire sync logic for a future release. I believe it might be addressed then. Fixing this in the current codebase is sadly not trivial

This is expected as an asset with the same hash already exists in the server, it’ll be rejected as a duplicate

Can you confirm if foreground backup is running when you manually upload? I tested this this on 1.131.3 and I can upload just fine
